This is if you live close to the border and can bring it across yourself. For most Canadians, the $508 to $531.00 is the correct US to Canadian converted price, because you would have to pay for shipping, customs, duties, brokerage, taxes, etc. Figure on adding 20 to 25% to the currency conversion rate and that is a more realistic Canadian price, so $344.00USD converts to say $530 to $540CAD depending on the daily conversion rate. Obviously, if you get the part across the border yourself, by whatever hidden means, or if you have an address on both sides of the border, etc, etc, then the converted Canadian price would be less.

Actually Chris, you are quite wrong on that. You will and should never pay any duty on any automotive replacement part which is 100% fully manufactured in North America. They are covered under NAFTA and are not subject to duties.
Taxes are 7% GST only....
Broker fee will range anywhere from $10 to $100+ depending on the value of the good. Best bet is to call a broker and find out what their fees are. www.pbb.com is a commonly used broker.
Lastly, if someone chooses to hide something, thats their business. I refuse to do any of the sort. Just not worth it IMO. Im very upfront about what I bring back, and I know sometimes the customs officers will let you go if you are upfront and honest, or so I hear.
In the end, its all about what you wanna do personally. Sometimes its better to spend that extra $20 with a Canadian company because you'll have the part in your hands faster. I know Eastwood and St. Albert Dodge are notoriously known for their excellent shipping & service

Well, I guess this point is dependant on how the manufactured part is stated on the paperwork by the sender, because to my surprise, I have been charged, in the past, customs and duties on parts such as air filters and intake products made in the USA (prior to sourcing them through Canadian distributors). But then again, you mentioned 100% manufactured in the USA, so that means some parts that I have brought in from the USA must have only been assembled or only final manufacturing occurred in the USA, then it makes sense that customs and duties were charged.

Yup, or customs messed up! They've been known to do that. I know they have let stuff pass through that is clearly not made in North America at all. If you believe that they are NAFTA, I would contact Canada Customs and Revenue Agency
The Blue Sky hovers above me, I see a Shining Star just before it Melts Into The Ocean. Hanging in the sky, motionless, is the Clear Blue Moon with a Violet Stream orbiting around it. Under my feet, lies Black Snow that has fallen from Outer Space. I feel my Lost Emotions, Drifting Away, like Angel Dust. I am in a Universal Nation, with Seven Cities Above The Sky, the Wavebells ringing around me, creating a Cosmic Vibe. I am...in a TRANCE.
i paid $340 from the dealership i bought my car from and my mopar bov for $50. But that is with the managers discount. my family is good friends with him. it pays to know people.
