Ok sorry to keep hounding you guys with these noob problems but i need osme help again..
I got new ngk iridium plugs and some people say use the stock gap and others say .040 or .035 and so on..
I gapped them to .050 the stock gap and put them in.. car started fine idle was good so i took it for a spin and it feels like i lost some power.. at WOT im getting like 10 psi it wont go over that and i feel resistance in the intake somewhere.. I put the old plugs back in to see if that would give me my boost back but nope still wont go past 10 psi.. I am not sure i you HAVE to torque the plugs i usually do them by hand.. How tight should the plugs be I did them by hand untill they were not getting any tighter and then tightend them with the ratchet i little more.. is this too loose or something im not sure what the problem is but something is not right at all..

i have always been able to hold around 13-17 psi untill i changed the plugs.. There are a fue things i think may be giving me a boost leak and i am going to spend all day cutting every damn zip tie and replacing them with small hose clamps, zip ties are for civics.. and then i am replacing the stupid POS elbow i got with my typhoon intake to a solid elbow and looking at anything that would give me a boost leak.. i dont have a check valve yet for the catch can but without it i still have had no problems boosting 15 psi.. my stock WGA had been amazing for holding boost it holds 15 psi no problem untill i let off throttle.. i am just pissed off becuase my car ran so great untill now i am having like 5 problems hit me all at once
ok i picked up a set of the stockers champion copper they were pre gapped to the .050 im gunna throw them in later on when the car cools down.. i think i messed up the tips of the iridiums by gapping them, the stockers will do for now untill i do more mods
Make sure you have that vacume line elbow going into the brake booster clamped. I had a major boost leak there. If you are unsure of tightening different things on the car, invest in a torque wrench it will give you piece of mind. Probably all torque specs are available here in line. Good Luck
First I think your gap is waay too wide. You should be @ .035 -.040. You can go say .038 and be in the middle. I think what you may be getting is spark blowout under boost.
Also you gotta be VERY careful when gapping iridiums cause they're not really meant to be gapped but they come waay too wide for our application. It's very easy to chip off the iridium tip off of them.
Changing plugs to another brand would not be why you're loosing boost....I'm willing to bet you have boost leak(s) somewhere, take the time and boost leak proof your ride, and as someone else said...use clamps rather than zip ties....
A friend of mine yesterday while at the track came in complaining how his ride suddenly was only boosting 5 psi, down from 17 psi.....took us 1 minute to figure out it was a sudden boost leak, the clamp on his cold side hose was finger tight and almost blew the hose right off!Put the hose/clamp back on( this time we tightened it right up and that was the end of the problem.
I most certainly would not over tighten the plugs. The cylinder head is alumium, just hand tighten them up and snug them up after that, in our case, less is more.
Gap your plugs as someone else suggested.35 to .40...or in between at .38 and you'll be just fine!
well i figurerd out that i screwed up the tips of the iridium plugs when i gapped them.. i went out and got a set of the stock champion coppers and problem solved..
i told you to not gap the plugs. Your car is pretty much stock. Even my stage 2 i dont gap the plugs.
You probably messed them up gapping them
