I have the same issue that silver bullet is having. I just bought my car a couple weeks ago. I work at ford and someone traded it in. We gave him 10g's for it, so thats what I paid for it. The milage was kind of high, 90k, but it's an '04 so I figured it was all highway and for 10k, how could I complain. Car was already lowered too, with a 120k 5year GMPP+ warranty.
Well it drives like it's brand new, except recently 3rd has been popping out on the downshift. No other gears, no slip on the upshift, just downshifting into third the occasional time it'll pop out. I'm taking it to a dodge dealer that I know pretty well and they said they can probably get it warrentied for me, but if it isn't covered I'm on the hook for that nice chunk of time it takes to disassemble the tranny.
I was kinda on the fence earlier, but I'm gonna take it in monday and hope for the best.

So you work for Ford, drive a Dodge and it has a GMPP (General Motors Protection Plan) warranty? Am I missing anything?
Well I guess I've been lucky with any work I've had done, but I still say it all depends on the dealer you choose to use. I know of 2 that have no problems with upgrades unfortunatly we can't share this info with other people publicly cause I know there are guys kicking around these forums that work for DCX. Unfortunatly most guys here don't have the time to fight with Dodge cause the responsibility is on them to prove that your mods caused the problem, it is not your responsibility to prove that it didn't. Mods don't mean no warranty unless they can prove that they caused the failure, but most times this is a longer fight than most want to go through. I even had no problems getting a new hood through my perferation warranty.

Has anybody dealt with brake rotors? Is that considered a wear item? My pads aren't really wearing, but they are eating into the rotor pretty good. Maybe I shoild warp them.
Also is anybody had problems with shifter ball play? I'm getting mine done at 59,000 (Ok'ed by shop forman, he just wants to cover his ass a little better, I'm not having too much trouble yet, just once in a while on a down shift it feels rubbery) at 49,000 now.

Synchros went out, tranny locked up all kinds of nasty shit and they blamed it on my clutch that they installed four months earlier. the clutch wasn?t stock b/c they wouldn?t warranty the stock one when it seized up on me four months prior to the time I brought it back in. they also said I or someone else changed the tranny fluid and it was not the right type and that caused the problem. No one ever touched the tranny except for them. So pretty much they kept giving me a run around saying this and that and the new clutch ruined the tranny. Well after everything is said and done I paid a grand for them to reinstall a stocker. The other clutch I had in there was fine. They bad mouthed me and the car which I took care of with the manager. Over all I have never brought the car back in, I will never own a Chrysler product after this one. There have been other Chrysler/jeep/dodge owners that I know of that get blamed for warranty issues when the car has never been messed with. Seems like they bit off more then they can chew on warranty deals.
i bought my car and bought the extended warranty the way it is... it came with an AEM CAI, and BOV so if they refuse my warranty i'll punch the salesman in the face, then back hand the financial consultant bitch that sold me the extended bumper to bumper warranty... then i'll burn the dealership down.. ok maybe not the last one but we'll see
anyways, im going into the dealership tomorrow cuz im getting a misfire from idle-2700 rpm's when i give it a bit of gas, i'll update with what the dealership says!
I'm going to do my Carnack (Google it - under Johnny Carson for all you young guys) impression.....
The answer is "Your warranty is voided due to mods" and "BUAH HAHAHAHA"
The question : "Are they going to repair Elrod's car under his extended (ie- overpriced) warranty?"
BTW - it's probably your TPS wiring going bad. The repair is easy and the kit will cost you ~$27 (plus the diagnostic cost since your warranty is voided).
they replaced the wires and spark plugs and it helped but its still doing it a bit... gotta take it back again and raise shit, those fuckers better not make me pay for another rental car
