Before I get flamed let me just say this: I am on the same side of the fence as everyone here, so with this said, let me just say: DCX on advice of their fleet of lawyers was told that to keep costs down due to warranty claims they must keep the Mopar performance parts for the SRT4 out of the loop, and DCX makes it very clear to the consumer that installing such parts would void warranty....
IT gets costly to gather all the dissembled parts and cart them off to your choice of certified mechanic to have him determine in his prof opinion that the performance part was not what caused the motor to blow.
Out of pocket lawyers also gets pricey to pursue this in court, and your other option is to take DCX to arbitration( in Canada)
I went through arbitration so I am talking from exp here....choosing this option also make the ruling final and you sign off any other recourse ( this is stated on the paperwork you fill up and sign on...
In my case, when DCX realized I was following through, they started to pay attention and had some engineer from Belvedere call and walk the shop foreman through a cycle of "Let's try this" I would get a cylinder 1 misfire, and they could not repair it... they changed the coil, the plugs, all the wires... did compression tests... tore the head right off, changed the injector, the car was at the dealer for almost three weeks.....I had enough, I wanted DCX to buy the car back...however, they finally resolved it! all four injectors and the fuel rail were replaced with another 004 SRT4 they had on the lot, brand new.
Since that incident, I have changed dealership to service and maintain my car, Darryl is in my opinion one of the most qualified people that work for DCX indirectly and I trust him completely! His work is, first class
I hate the fact that my car, a performance machine designed by an elite group that form PVO/SRT design team offer me, the consumer mods manufactured by their mother ship CHRYSLER through it's division, DODGE, but LEAVES me in the cold as far as warranty is concerned!!!
Why would I then cross that line? If I do I already know the hassles I am getting my ass into if shit breaks........so I must make up my mind to either go ahead and throw caution to the wind, or stay stock for the duration of the warranty.
DCX should stand behind what they design for their own products, or quit offering/manufacturing performance parts to their customers!
DCX... can't have the cake & eat it too!
Well here is my issue
I found this funny and am wondering if there is any recourse I can take. My transmission blew up on 2005 Magnum R/T ... Took it to the dealer and the DSM just happened to be there. He told them not to touch the car it was modified. Anyway I have exhaust (catback) and a Air intake.... This is the best part those are not the modifications that voided m warranty... In my hatch were some tuning items that we use for the GrandPrixs (GM w-bodies) that are just lying there doing nothing. He said I have tuned the computer.... He is pretty much un-educated about the LX platform then because you cannot tune the computers. The parts are not attached to anything either, They are sitting there loose in the trunk. I guess he went looking through my stuff because they are in a compartment underneath the trunk floor
Do I have any recourse??? How would I go about arbitration??
man these stories just keep getting better... **NOT** ...
Rick, have they threathened to void your warranty? if I were you i would pull you car out of that dealership as soon as you can and take it too a reputable dealership that is willing ... to help you with your situation!.

that's a horrible deal. I don't think they can void your warranty over that without any proof of anything?
Well now the story has changed...... They are saying that there is some wiring under the hood that isnt stock.... I am going to have to take pictures now and see what they are talking about. This is amazing .......
i have had issues with shifting i brought my car to the dealor and i was told if the take it apart and fix it the would charge me for it, the said my warranty was voided couse my car was modded. if you look at my sig i didn't have those mods at the time just a intake and the bop and i was told it was still voided. i'm not sure if i read another thread correctly but i do believe our shift forks were recalled and i am still having issues with shifting and now i think the syncroes are shot. i don't mean to jump off toppic and rant but the f***ing warranty we buy with the car is nothing but a tip to the dealor. any help would be appreciated thanks. charles the dealer i delt with is circle dodge in brick nj

Here are your choices
1. take the car to Darrly (PVO) and Mike (mikeski) I think they are at Team? not to sure some one can point you in the right direction.
2. They have to prove with out a doubt what was done to the car is what caused the problem it is the law you paid for a service called a warrenty and now that service is not being followed through on. Tell them you are going to contact a lawer or that you did and your going to proceed with a court action if they do not cover the transmission.
They have to say more then there is wiring that is not factory under the hood and make sure you are watching them to do not let them work under the hood alone till they agree to fix the car cause it takes 2min to cut and splice a wire to make it look tampered with. If there is wiring that is tampered with They have prove it caused the problem and I cant see wiring taking a transmission out.
I would say call DCX but they wont do shit anyway. When I had issues with a wheel bearing I went in when i knew it was busy they tried to blame it on drag racing cause the service manager saw me at the strip. There was about 15 service customers and a couple people buying car I said to the service manager.
"I can make every customer you have here walk out the door and never come back to you for service including the nice folks looking at that nice new SRT-10 would you like me to make a big deal out of this or are you going to fix it".
needless to say it got fixed altough it is much ceaper then a tranny but moral of the story is to be tough tell them what they are going to do, do not take their shit and if they wont give in start going around takling to all the customers there telling them not to buy the extended warrenty or even do not buy a car there period!. They will fix it.
i'm not sure if i read another thread correctly but i do believe our shift forks were recalled and i am still having issues with shifting and now i think the syncroes are shot.
There is currently no Recall or TSB on shift forks or synchros for our cars, At least not in Canada.
Everytime I go into the Dealership, it's like a night at the pub minus the booze. It doesn't hurt that I worked at a ford and chevy dealer in town, and some of those guys work there now. Also when I had a eagle, I bought all my OEM parts there. I still get wholesale plus 5-10% (depending on the parts. And how broke I am.) now that I work on the oil patch. Doesn't hurt that my wife hauled their parts shagger girl to the the hospital when she wiped out on her crotch rocket. I've been told as long I don't get out of hand, my car is stock in DCX eyes by the shop forman.
The long and short of the story, is don't bite the hands that feed you.
