Default Boost Leak from BOV

hey,
I have yanked my mopar bov apart 3 or 4 times trying to fix a boost leak, but Im not having any luck. My car with the key turned to the on position and airbox lines plugged will only let me get the boost up to 5 psi on my gauge. I noticed that the surge valve when tightened down is not completely flat on the blue plate. I thought I might have a bent surge valve , so I used another one and its the same. I notice the same results with the key in both on and off positions. This is my first attempt at doing a boost leak test , so I wouldnt be surprised if im doing something wrong. Im using the stock airbox elbow with a 2 inch pvc cap with a valve in in, Im also using a compressor that can put the volume of air in the system ( i have it set at 22 so I dont put too much air in there) I did searches on the forums and the only thing I could come up with is use liquid engine gasket sealer, but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if any of you had run into this problem. any suggestions will be great

thanks
Ed

I used the make your own gasket w/ the adesive that comes w/ it and a small amount of cooper rtv gasket. I've had good results with it before i sold it to jay.

my old mopar bov doesn't leak from the gasket. it leaks from the egg-shaped hole where it suppose to blow air out.
i spray soap on it and it's making bubbles from the holes!!! and i replace with hks right away.
