The anticipated Huges vs GSP 3 fight has been post poned due to Matt Huges pending retirement. The date was set for April 7th in Montreal but Matt droped out of the fight saying he might retire. He then changed his mind after he found out GSP vs Sera fight would be Feb 2 but it was too late the April date had already been cancelled. Huges will now fight Deigo Sanchez winner will fight GSP in June.
UFC also signed a few huge players heavy weight Mirko cro cop and light heavy QUINTON ?RAMPAGE? JACKSON who is still the only person to have beat the ice man Chuck Liddel going to be an exciting 2007 for the UFC.
I think Matt is gonna beat Diego...but GSP is a bad ass and deserves the title.
Cro Cop should be an exciting new comer to the UFC as well as Rampage...the guy is a beast in the ring

What you have posted is not all correct,
The fight has been postponed because Matt does not want an immediate rematch with GSP. Matt knows he needs to work on his game and needs a fight in between their rematch in order to work on the skills needed (striking for one).
The Serra vs GSP fight is also OFF as GSP hurt his knee and has had to pull out .
Hughes stated he does NOT want to fight Diego right now as well so I doubt that will be his next fight...expect it too be Karo, Fitch, Kos maybe. Matt and the UFC are aware he could very well loose to Diego and that would kill a rematch for a good year + so do not expect that to happen until after Matt vs GSP 3.
Rampage is not the only person to have beaten Chuck, he is however the last person to do it and for those who have never seen the fight I suggest looking it up (I am sure its on you tube) as Chuck gets WORKED badly. Rampage's style is simular to Tito's but has better wrestling, better striking, etc. Cro Cop...well I need not say anything about him...he is the man plain and simple
Exciting times yes but please check your source on some of this information.

The UFC last weekend was bittersweet for me. I knew Liddell would win. I felt sorry for Forrest Griffin, he seemed so upset with the loss. I was happy to see Jason Macdonald win but he was cocky in victory and represented poorly. Happy about Andre winning and remaining a HW title contender.
I think Matt should fight Karo, but I trust Dana will make the right call.
Rampage and Cro Cop - Awesome! Cro Cop will kick lights and legs out.

Lets plan on it Dave
The only fight last weekend I did not like was the Andre vs Pe De Pano...if it were not for Herb Deans (as usual) crappy reffing that fight could have went differently. First Andre illegally kicks him in the face...Herb should have stood them up and talked to Andre instead they both wanted to remain on the ground which is fine. Then Andre tags Pe De Pano and he starts to roll in an attempt to gain top position of secure a ankle lock...Andre then grabs onto the fence and starts hammering on him. Herb did not even say anything to him after he sat their deliberately holding onto the fence so he would not get rolled over.
Now do not get me wrong I think Andre would have still won and I do like him as a fighter however that was bogus at best.
Dave did you see the Pride event? I tapped it and watched it last night...was kick ass

Mike
that is funny Mike. I agree that Andre was and is cheap, it's not the first time he's grabbed the fence to gain a winning advantage. Andre was lining that punch up before the fight was re-started, classic. Throw me in the octagon and I'd 'forget' the rules too.
Herb is the problem. I always laugh when they introduce him pre-fight and he points in the air tentatively as if to say "Hi, I'm Herb. I hope this thing is cut and dry or my lack of instinct, judgement and perception will determine this fight".
I did not get to see the Pride event but would be happy to discuss it after reviewing your tape
all the information I posted is from the after fight interviews and press conference with Dana White. Randy and that other dude were talking about how Matt was thinking of retirement and backed out of the fight. There may have been more to it then that but thats what they said. This was on The Fight Network you might be able to catch a rerun.
GSP's injury just hit the UFC web site today that sucks but I'm sure it will be a quick heal.
Sorry what I ment about rampage beating liddel was he is the only one not to have 2nd meeting cause yes coture and Jeremy Horn both beat liddel but they had rematches that chuck then won.

Yeah its a shame really because Andre is a good fighter...oh well he will have to face Cro Cop soon enough and will find out what a real striker looks like
Herb is a tool plain and simple that guy REALLY needs to go, the NSAC needs to look at his fights and realize he is the problem.
I have the Pride event on DVD so anytime you wanna see it let me know

Yeah it really sucks about GSP, but lets hope he heals up fast!
In regards to Matt, I know people have suggested the retiring thing however he has never once stated he wanted to hang it up. For some reason some people think that most dominate WW (arguable) of all time should retire after loosing...heck he is only 34 years old. If he can just take the time to tighten up some of his skills and most importantly improve his striking he most certainly can beat GSP.
In regards to Chuck, I agree but the situation is much different. He lost to Horn in 1999 when he was very new to MMA (third fight) no excuse but still, when Randy beat him he was still young. When they fought again Randy was pushing well past his prime and if it were not for the eye pokes, etc he still did very well. Rampage on the other hand was late (December) 2003, he is still very young and has been active the hole time just not in the UFC. We will see soon enough, I really just do not think Chuck is all that great...he is great against people that can not strike well and the do not push the action which is what most of the UFC has.
I do not like Chuck much either. I think Huges has alot of work to do to take the belt from GSP cause yes Huges can work on his game but remember GSP is working on his as well.
