Default To those with a custom tune

When you had your car custom tuned by a CMR dealer was anything changed in the handheld. I was wanting to do some tweaking on the street and noticed that the WOT fuel and WOT spark settings were changed in the handheld. Shouldn't they all be at zero since it was tuned using the software? Thanks

Unless it wasn't zeroed out when I gave it to them, but you would have thought they would have checked that. If I try to zero it out now it'll screw up the custom tune. Correct???

When your on the main menu screen and you select performance tune you should have two options 1.Diablo tunes
2.custom tunes
If thats not the case i would say you have a problem and they tuned using the hand held.

I have those 2 options, but it gives me the option to modify or install the tune. When I click on modify some of the parameters have been changed. For example , under timing from 6-k it's set at -10 degrees. So if I ever wanted to pull more timing for that range i'm pretty much screwed.

Whenever ever you go to install a custom tune it will ask you to return settings to default, at that point they should have clicked yes and done so.

Yes

If a tune had previous heandheld changes made to it and then is reflashed for whatever reason, the Predator will ask you if you want to RESET the settings = zero out the handheld changes.

If a CMR had the tune out and made changes, you almost always want to say YES, return the setting to default.

CMR dealers can only see what you send them, if you send the tune with changes we will see these and work around them or zero them out with our cal file. Problem being, you hand held saves the changes and we cannot zero those out. You need to reset the parameters when you load the custom tune, this way you are starting with a "fresh" tune.

The problem is he went and had a cmr dyno tune done, not canned. Also did 3rd gear dyno pulls and tuned a/f by tailpipe sniffer. I thought this was odd.

Yea I had NO luck with sniffers. They always ran alot leaner then my wideband. I would of made sure they tuned via wideband.

Rage tunes with a sniffer and the difference wasn't much compared to the wide band, maybe .1-.2.If you've got a leaky exhaust i would say the sniffer would be a bad idea.
