Default Dsp and winter?

Hey guys for te longest time I somewhat tuned using dsp (adjusted wot fuel) and it has been running wot in the 11.8-12.1 so today I did a 60mph 3rd gear pull to see how it's running and it was at 12.8 most of the time!! Is it because of the colder weather or what? What should I do, anyone know?

Thanks

You should data log. Always, always, always datalog if you suspect something is up.

If it's not knocking, don't do anything. If its not broke, don't fix it.

I assume you're OFF pcm boost? (Seems to be the case)

Your tune will be subject to the weather, so obviously a good drop in temperature will affect your tune. Just add a bit of fuel to get it in the right range and you should be good.

For me, it REALLY sucks. It went from 65Ffor a week to 100F with 90% humidity for another week, then back again to 60F...now it's about 89F outside. FML. My car doesn't know wtf is going on.

Yeah we had rain inbetween that..

Plus my wideband is being stupid and i'm really lazy, so I just drive the car from point A to B without flooring it.

13.5:1 would be better,,,,,if its not knocking.

You tune your car based off the data, not other's opinion.

If 12.8 shows more than 2 degrees of knock add a little fuel. If it doesn't have any knock, who gives a shit?

Winter blend fuel?

Are your WG adaptives shut off? (custom tune)

You could just have a worn out sensor for your wideband also. I would check for boost leaks as well. Hope that helps.

I agree with Duster, if you don't have knock and your EGT's are in check (non glowing manifold) don't worry about it.

FYI: WG adaptives are off in the DS 93tune that most guys run.

off topic: I have mine turned back on at 176F and I'm kind of liking it.

Thanks for that bit of info, I have never check the 93 tune to see if it was on or off.

We are looking at turning some of our tunes back on with the WG adaptive. We have a few that just cannot help themselfs from going WOT when the car is stone cold.

Uh, aren't you still running the risk of burning shit up?

I don't knock at 12.5AFRs either but I had always thought that was wayyyyy too lean, even with methanol.

No clue, I thought "safe" AFRs on pump were 11.3-12.0 if you were ballsy

We have ran as high as 12.2 on the SRT4N, the Caliber will allow us to run into the 13's all the time on pump gas with zero knock.
