Default DSP, Stage 2 injectors, walbro etc. ?'s

Ok, I am really green when it comes to tuning so be easy on me. I believe I am ready for the DSP. Mods so far are St. 1 pcm (which I will swap out for my St. 0), AGP WGA, AGP fmic, Thermal R & D tbe. I do have a wideband and scangauge as well. Stock turbo, btw.

This is my question. Would it benefit me to purchase the stage 2 injectors and a walbro along with the DSP? Or is that not necessary? I have an '05 SRT, so I already have the St. 1 injectors. I can get new st. 2 injectors and the walbro from a local guy for like $200.

Also, would the 93 octane tune be sufficient with the boost that I am running now (17-18 psi) and the stage ones?

Thanks guys!!

Brian

I recommend the stg 2's and a rescale at the very least so you will have plenty of fuel and keep injector duty cycle low. You don't NEED a Walbro, but if your stocker is high mileage then it won't hurt to replace it.

Cool thanks, my car has less than 36K on it so I'd say I'm good but may go ahead and get the cheap insurance.

I guess I'll order my DSP Monday then.

Go for it! DSP is awesome. I hate tuning piggybacks now that I have done DS tuning. Just wish it could tune line instead of having to reflash.

Throw in a fuel pump re-wire while you're at it. It's cheap, easy to install and allows your pump to get the right amount of voltage.

Yea, thought about that too. So can I rescale the stage 2 injectors using the handheld? Don't worry guys I will not be doing this alone, I will get help from a fellow SRT owner who knows a great deal more about this crap than I do. Thanks for the help!!

No. The injectors can only be rescaled by a person/place with the CMR software.

Hey I checked your thread. Thanks for the offer but I am getting 4 new Stage 2 injectors and a brand new Walbro for $180, locally.

He's been trying to get rid of them for a while now.

Thanks for the offer though.

I've decided to order the DSP Monday and then the injectors and fuel pump later next week since I'm getting such a good deal on them.

Then as MC Hammer once said, "Hammer time!!".

Gottcha. Is it necessary to get them rescaled? Or can I just drop them in and make adjustments with the DSP?

You have to pay (Unless you get it free) a CMR dealer to rescale. Go with Nigel/Aaron. Ridiculous turn around speeds on rescales.

Take note though that you will have to pull a very good amount of fuel with stage 2's and a Walbro, that's my exact fuel setup and I had to pull a lotttttttt

Sounds good thanks!! What kind of numbers are you making with this set up?

What mods do you have?

Once again, forgive me for my lack of knowledge. I am trying to learn. What is involved in rescaling injectors? I will do a search if need be, but I am using mobile right now. Also, what is the cost?

Nigel (turbo666) could do it, and PTP is doing them as well. A simple rescale shouldn't be more than $40 or so. When they do that I believe all that they are doing is adjusting the injector duty cycle to control the amount of fuel that is going into the cylinders at idle and various RPM. Your PCM now is setup to operate at a particular IDC with the stock size injectors in mind. Operating at these same percentages with a larger injector leads to injecting more fuel than with the previously smaller injectors.

Even with the rescale I think you will need to make adjustments with your handheld still. But you'll be in the ballpark and it should be easily managable.
