OK,
Well I figured I would start playing around with the Diablo and see if I can get the 93 OCT tune to work out before I order the canned tune.
Basically I would like some help from step 1 on what to do here. I bought it from Rage so it came with the cable to plug into the laptop etc. I plugged the Diablo into a power source, connected the Diablo to my laptop, and inserted the small driver cd that came in the package. It is saying that the driver cannot be installed etc etc and is basically doing nothing. Do I need to go to a website first to download anything? Can the Diablo be plugged right into the car without any updates etc?
NEXT.
When I plug it into the car, what exactly do I need to do. I know I need to download an original MAP as a back up, but I'm not sure how.
Also, has anyone got a basic layout of parameters for Big turbo/ big injector set ups? Just to get me close to start with?
I PM'ed mindmelt since everyone says he is great to help but I never got a reply (a few weeks ago) Im sure he is just busy but can anyone help me?
Thats a lot of rambling but basically
1)What do to prior to plugging in the Diablo into the car
2)How to download the backup file
3)Whats a good base for AGP S3D 44lb turbo, RC 750cc's, supporting fuel mods, stock sensors, stock motor (all other typcial supporting mods, 3inch exhuast, boost controller etc etc)
Thanks
Dave

BRAVOPL POST ON HOW TO TEST FOR BOOST LEAKS:
"I'm sorry for an idiotic question. once i have this leak tester hooked up i start the car and then what? Do i just stand there and wait for some sort of whissle sound?"
the hookup and download procedures are in the box.
basically, plug it in and it will either download the oem tune right away or present you an option to do so. either way, it wont let you load a new tune without downloading the old one first. that aspect is pretty much dummy proof.
you need to tell your computer via the device manager to look for the device driver you need off the CD. sometimes windows is dumb and wont look there on it's own. 1. plug in, 2. specify the location of driver, 3. profit.
You shoulnt have to plug it in the computer unless the unit needs an update as mine did.
1. plug into car and select performance tune the select 93 tune.
2. by selecting this it tells you step by step how to.
3. by installing the 93 tune the unit downloads a backup of your stock tune.
You may need to put stock injectors back in due to the tune being set to them. Also your vacum line config. has to be set right to work with the DSP.
Go to diablo's website in the download section, and get the DSP downloader, adn the data viewer, adn the most current update. 9r13 right now. Open the downloader and connect your dsp to the computer. It should register the dsp w/in a few seconds and then let you load the stock map off of the dsp. You must return the vehicle to stock in order to update the dsp to the latest crom file. I have vista and the cd was useless to me. I tried like 9 different drivers off of the cd but teh computer would never recognize the dsp. then i opened the ds downloader and it worked. open the actual cd file and look for your cable, then install that driver
you can run your current vacuum line config. and it will run just like before. You must have a tuner scale down your injectors for them to work. if you have S2 or 3 you could probable get away w/ some 650's but 750's are too big for teh staged computers to deal w/, just watch your afr and your LT and ST fuel trims to make sure they aren't way out. W/ that big of a turbo you will be ok to run it, but you won't be able to make a lot of power w/o the tune from rage.
If you have a return line you can easily tune the injectors for good drive ability, and then adjust your WOT fuel w/ the dsp by pulling or adding
download this driver in this link Here. I just got a new laptop with vista, and this driver worked.
Then just plug it into the car and either put the 93 perf tune on it or modify your stock one. It will download the original automatically, just follow the directions on the screen, and make sure if you have a turbo timer, its off when the screen says turn key off.

so because it's set for the stock injector size (that being the 93 tune), what about s2 people? s2 w/ out HOM. I'm assuming I will run lean? or rich? Man, this shit starts to confuse me.

if Vista owners are having problems with the driver download, try switching usb ports. I had the same problem and as soon as i switched it downloaded the driver.
I also have some basic questions. How do I read the boost on the dsp data logger? Also what is the KNK Max total retard for? Mine usually says 17 degrees, what do I need to know about that? I also have read a little about adjusting the fuel pressure. Is there any need with that on my setup? (mods are in sig)

Boost is read by taking Map(PSI) and subtract BARO..
Log KnockSt (short term)..
What are your a/fs?? If their fine, then leave it.

The predator is set for what ever pcm your running....You will be lean as hell with your setup without a return line I THINK, i'm not sure because i had mine tuned with a returnline and never really leaned on it before hand.Just a little heads up you will be happier running the modify stock tune and just add timing and or fuel that you need.....Or just email Nemo (ragetuned@yahoo.com)at Rage-Tek your set up which is very close to mine, there is sticky in their section on what needs to be in the email, paypal 80.00 to nemosity101@aol.com and have him write you a tune.... which will be very close to what you need and if you have to fine tune that is what the hand held is for

great! thnx stang. i thought i would run lean after reading many other threads and asking questions. what if i ran 14lbs until i'm able to get a return line? or would i be okay if i throw my rc 750's on along with walbro 255?
