Default Cat Over Temp - Stupid Question

I looked around but could not find anything that really answered this. "Is it a bad idea to disable the COT when you still have a catalytic converter"

I know it seems like pretty straight forward question and my instincts say "yeah it is a bad idea"

That said I have an Injen Catback exhaust and am not keen on running a 3" downpipe due to how loud it will make the car(not my thing). I am guessing I will have to get a shop to put together a catless downpipe in stock config if I want to avoid the fuel dump.

Just wanted to get your guys thoughts on this.

Cheers

Hehe thanks,

I do not need it turned off at moment.

I am more interested in finding out whether it is a good idea to disable it on a car that still has a Cat.

Disabling it probably not the best thing for a car that still has a cat. The better option would be to raise the thresholds a little bit. Still protect the cat and not dump as much fuel.
