Default 4th gear falls flat

When i shift from 3rd into 4th under full load the car will sputter and back fire and will not move until i let off the gas and get back on it. Anyone have any ideas?

Yep, mine was doing that when I was running 10.0 @ WOT. Just bogging to hell...feels like I had a rev limiter at 4k

Sounds like the dreaded COT fuel dump.

If it's running rich, yes. If it sill does it, the COT will have to be shut off.

yeah whats this cot? i know it runs rich at first from say 4k-5k but it leans out to about 11.5 from 5k to redline. But when i shift from 3rd to 4th that puts the RPMs in that 4-5 range right? might have to watch this when i do another run

Cat Over Temperature. The PCM dumps fuel when it thinks the cat has reached a certain temp. Your af's will fall to 8.9 when it happens. You will see this clearly on the log.

The PCM doesn't know you don't have a cat. Its an internal calculation. It figures if you in high boost for too long, you're doing damage so the F/A tanks to cool the EGTs

Mine has done that a few times while i was in the tuning process.....right at the shift to fourth when the boost would hit and the rising rate regulator is raising the pressure the afr's would hit the low 10's and just put the spark out.Got the afr's were they needed to be and hasn't done it since....My COT is disabled BTW.

A CMR tuner would have to shut it off for you.
