Default Tranny & TOB Help

Well I am the latest SRT to hit the TOB and Fork break down wall. Car is jackhammering when I press the clutch pedal and I can't shift into 1st or Reverse without giving myself a hernia. Between parts and labor I'm guessing it will cost $600 - $800. SO i was wondering if anyone would be up for a fun day of tranny drops and clutch manipulations. I don't currently have the tools to do this myself. Also has anyone had their fork cryo treated and has it helped? Any other mods I should do at this time since the tranny will be off? Has anyone tried Nemo's modification?

Josh

just go with a new stock tob & new stock tob fork ... what clutch is up to you

the clutchmaster s4 4-puck & 6-puck have both done me well ... the DCR is the only clutch that I would really say stay away from - I had one on my car for only a couple thousand miles & the clutch was toast due to manufacturer defect

as much as I respect Nemo & Ragetek, I'd honestly say don't get the hydraulic TOB ... I installed one on MEasy's car and it broke within 5 days, rendering his car undriveable for a good amount of time ... MEasy ended up going with a stock set-up (tob and tob fork) and loves it

if you check MEasy's "hydraulic TOB" thread in Rage's section, you'll see the different failures ... some have lasted a couple days, some a couple thousand miles & some up to 10 or 15k miles before they started giving them problems

lastly, I could do your clutch, tob and tob fork for a small fee if you're interested ... shoot me a PM if you'd like

I agree with Nate 100%. The stock equipment is more than capable of handling lost of power and abuse. Its your best bet to go with all the stock clutch components....
