Well I am back once again and looking for a new toy to play with. We recently purchased 2007 Sxt inferno red caliber with 19,000 miles. I honestly hated the car at first and was hell bent on buying a R6 to cure my quest for speed !
We have had the caliber for about 3 weeks now, and I have to admit the ugly thing is starting to grow on me. The extra bulk is present and the handling is lackluster. Not as much fun as a neon and lacks the go cart fun.
But I am a little older and have a family now so it's time to kinda grow up
We are debating trading the Sxt in for a Csrt and starting my next project disguised as a family mini wagon
We are having problems finding these cars and the prices we have seen are outrageous so far. I have seen them with 30k miles going for $24,000.
Does anyone know a local dealer that might be willing to sell one of these things for blue book ? Even Ebay is a bit pricey compared to book value. Getting a loan under these conditions is tough, and I'm not so impressed with the Csrt that I am willing to screw myself financially once again.
I would have posted pics of the Caliber but it is still ugly
im always lurking.. I've been keeping an eye on some of the projects our loyal vendors have been working on. Realtune, exhaust depot, looks like these lil wagons could be fun with a bit of hard work...
Nate I still owe you a beer, and there are still spider webs living in that block in my basement !
ive thought about it but it would piss me off to start from scratch and driving someone elses project is boring. I just want something new . big turbo caliber would be amusing
I'll be down at CTI within the next week or 2, I can talk to him if you'd like. I know that he was hoping to fab parts for the CSRT-4. You'd probably just have to pick up a turbo, oil & coolant lines, fittings, etc.
well the other small matter of finding one of these rocket turds at a legit price !!
Does anyone know the production numbers of these things ? I have seen a few at local dealers but even used at 24k. Blue book for that car with 30k miles is only $18,000
Mention it to willy if we can find one and the financing I will be tinkering with it. I actually have to shoot a few Pm's to Hector at Ed and aaronneon. My wife hates that I do this but I have a bad habit of building stupid fast cars before I buy the car.
I must admit it's fun to get a stock car, and have it a beast the first week you own it !!!

Would either of these be what you are looking for?
check out Dodge Caliber & Caliber SRT4 Forums. I have been lurking on there for quite some time and they always seem to have some awesome deals too. Only thing is a lot of them are farther away.
