So exactly how many of us were in the first group on the track? seems like there was a couple of us.. I was the big guy with the sweater with the R that had to drive the crossfire with the top down...

That was the time of my life. And I tell you one thing that Cherokee pulls like a freight train. I got it up to 110mph on the straight in the rain. Dave and I had some serious fun in those Cherokee's. To bad we had to wait like 5 minutes for the other guy. I will say one thing for those of you guys that didnt go you really missed out. That was seriously the most fun I have ever had in a car. The thrill ride with the psycho in the 300c was a little insane. I have never seen a 4,000lb sedan drift corners at 100 mph in the rain

If you thought that event was fun, make the trip to Nationals this summer. Speed is limited by ability, not a pace car, get rides in real racecars instead of media vehicles, and drag race for a full quartermile, not just a 1/16th.

We've got autocross and Hooters Girls too...

Instead of getting a free hat, win an S3R turbo kit. Oh yeah, we got free hats and t-shirts too....

See you in Topeka,
Dale

it was amazing there.
they did not let us drive vipers on the track , because last week they crashed 2 vipers.
same with jeep, they say that the tires for jeep are very expensive,so they did not let us drive them on track.

The Vipers were last year I think not last week. The first group drove the Jeeps on the track. The others didn't?

Dale is right though guys. If you think this day was fun you will abousofreakenlutely love the Nationals. Everything we did here only better.

If you crash your car and you shouldn't as there will be great instructors, most insurance companies will cover on track incidents during drivers education events like our HPDE. Time events like the AutoX is different but then again autoX crashes are very few and far between as they are run in wide open areas.

we almost didn't get to drive the jeeps in the second group but i complained so they went and got them, luckily cuz i think that was the best thing i got to expeirence that and the srt6, the viper was pretty sweet but i wish we had more space to open up, i tried on the auto X but all i did was spin out and it doesn't help when you have the crazy french guy yellin at you to go faster. [johhnybutt] my car is alright just got my windshield but it was already messed up anyway just time to get a new windshield. i will post some pics that my girl took soon.

I rode in the pace car for a lap. I forgot the drivers name, but he was the one from Florida. He told me the viper crash was in Atlanta. He said he was the pace car leading the vipers when it happened. He actually sounded a little bent out of shape over it. He said everybody was looking at him for an explanation.
It was a lady, whose story was; she was trying to keep up with her husband in front of her. She hit a small dip in the track on the straightaway, yanked the wheel lost it and fucked the car up good. She was fine, even stayed the rest of the day.The guy said he had to answer a million questions about the incident to the bosses. He said to me, "how the hell do you spin on a dry straight!?" "I can't figure it out." I'm almost positive he said it was last week. So I guess if anybody knows when the Atlanta event was...

Oh wow, you mean some people actually got to drive the Vipers on the track before?
That's insane. I know I would have caused havoc behind one

I remember the girl driving the Jeep around during the hot laps had the brakes on
the car smoking every time she came back in, and they are worried about tires haha
