i just bought my srt-4 and i have 1200 miles on it. It's broken in and everything. I noticed now that my boost is at like 8-10psi. I barely even hit 11. Couple days bays b4 i've seen hit 14psi. I think it's b/c of the extremly cold weather we've been going through, but just wondering is this happening to anyone else? Possibly the weather is messing with the gauge? What are the norms for how much boost i should hit in all gears?
everyone is boosting low in the cold...some people are even building "homes" for there ita(?) sensors to remedy this problem. my aem short intake seems to help a little when the engine gets some heat in it.

Just read the vaccumm side of the guage as boost when you’re cruising and it will make you happy.

Mine doesn't boost all the way in this artic chill. I can't stand the winter here too much longer, when I graduate college in a year or two I'm moving out of this icebox
Originally posted by NIVO88T you know, you can lean out your car in this cold weather... so it's not too cool to run higher than what the factory specifies.
If the boost goes lower than normal is for a reason!
Yep, my SRT, although away for the winter now, was only boosting around 5-7 psi in temps below 32 F. I believe mopar is sensing AIT and using it to limit boost to, as others have said, eliminate the possibility of running to lean...this is just a guess, but it seems this way, also u may notice that espicaly with stage one the boost at engine start is low untill the engine reaches normal operating tempatures...this i believe helps eliminate excessive strain on the turbo, as the oil has to thin b4 it will boost full, also it allows them to more easily pass emmisions as the exhaust gases are burning hotter once the car reaches normal temp...allowing for a cleaner burn. Just my thoughts on the issue. Also have any of you guys watched the boost gauge under boost hold shifts (stage one)? I've sen my guage peg 20psi...
