Well, the number 95 Charger felt the wrath of Ed yesterday, but took its revenge out on me on the 1.5 mile course in West Bend, just beyond the shacane and apex points before you enter the front stretch. The backend broke loose and I was headed toward the guard rail, but managed to pull it out, but in doing so, the left rear quarter panel scrapped the guard rail. Grass, dirt and rocks went a flying.
I broke off of the pack and headed to the pits to give them the bad news. I felt bad and apologized, but the Skip Barbara guys were pretty cool about it and said don’t worry about it, shit happens. I was first lead behind the instructor when we went out and everything was fine on the first lap. Before we went out, the instructor told all of us that if we kept it tight, 2 cars between each other he’d pick the pace up. On the first lap, all of us were in tight order right behind him. I broke out of the pack on the front stretch and let the next 2 move up. He picked up the pace with all 3 of us staying right with him, but in West Bend I said bye bye to them. If there was any good to come out of it, we were the last group to go out for the day.
I talked with several of the instructors after the incident and they seemed to be puzzled about the backend dancing out like that in that section of the track. We checked the back end over and couldn’t see any brakeage and the tires also looked good. To be honest, I did not like the handling characteristics of the Charger.
All in all a very fun day especially with the crossfire and its handling ability on the 1.5 mile course.

Ha.. that is a wierd part of the course to loose it.. and the chargers were really squirely especially in the rain...
West Bend is a tricky part of the track for sure. I seen a lot of pro's loose it there. The shacane was added to that area because the ALMS proto type cars would catch air and flip over backwards.
Was it a red one? The one I was in gave me a pretty hard time, and right after my laps, Johnny spun out in the same charger. Did you have the ESP on or off?
To me the scariest thing about the charger was the long brake travel, i almost rearend someone on the sharp turn coming off that straight just before the shacane, i wish the brakes were a tad more responsive.
I expected one of the younguns out here to lose -it w/ one of the SRT's................NOt-YOU Ed ________5TOEZ________ glad ya did'nt get hurt er anything.

You would have thought. We had a good day and the track was fast and the instructor really had us going hard. I glanced down really quick once at the speedO meter and I was hitting between 115-120 on the front stretch.
It was the red one and esp was on. Didn't see an indicator on the cluster that it was off.
They warned us about brake fade on the Charger and that they would almost go to the floor and to give them a slight pump every now and then to bring them up.
I surely got my money's worth and hope Chrysler keeps me on their invite list for next year.
I almost lost it after turn 1 coming onto the straight before the corner with the concrete..
Yeah you did . I drove #95 as well Ed. That thing was horrible, it had bald chopped front tires on it. The car just kept pushing threw the turns no matter what
