Default New FM wastegate and cant boost over 9psi!

So i had an old style agp wastegate on my car, and i dident like it so i decided i was going to change to a FM wastegate, seeing as though i have a new E1 that will be going on soon. After the install of the FM wga i cant get it to boost over 9psi. I did a boost leak test and found one leak on my hot side IC pipe that i fixed. After fixing that leak it still wouldent boost over 9-10psi. I adjusted the WGA arm many times still with no luck. So then i went to my BOV thiking it might be leaking because i can hear a loud whistle while in WOT. I know the whistle is normal for the stock turbo expecially with a CAI and 3inch exhaust but i decided to check it out anyways. Also I have a Turbo XS bov and i know they are known to be leaky. I asjusted the BOV by adding another washer inside as TurboXS says to do on the instrustions. Still after this the problem is not fixed.

Then to my self i think, maybe its my boost gauge, even though it seems to be working perfectly fine. Sits on 0 when car is off and holds 20 vaccume at idle. So my buddy has an extra Autometer 30/30 gauge laying aorund that he lets me borrow to test on my car to see if in fact my stock gauge is not reading correctly. I put the new gauge on hoping this was my problem. Come to find out it is not and i am still only getting 9psi.

please help

how much room is left on the adjustment arm? assuming you're running a line straight to the turbo and eliminating computer controlled boost? do you have a staged computer? good deal on the boost leak check, that's the first thing everybody would have said.

theres not much room left at all on the arm. And yes i am running a line from the wastegate to the turbo, not on PCM controlled bost. I am running a Stage 1 pcm at the moment.

I have a feeling that im going to need to take the arm off the flapper and give it several turns towards the firewall. Then put it back on the flapper and re-adjust. Im thinking it dident give it enough preload when i put it on. Thats the only thing that makes sence to me right now so its worth a try.

its easier to use a 7/16in wrench to adjust it once it's connected to the flapper than it is to try to twist it to 14+ psi then put it on the flapper.

could you take a pick of the wga arm? for 18-21psi i think i have maybe a 1/4" or an 1/8" of thread left, if that.

I had to cut the arm on my FM wga, and I still couldn't get it back up to 15psi. I finally said fuck it and made a bleeder out of a vaccuum connector, it worked perfectly

Everyone that ive talked to usally said they liked running NON-PCM controlled boost, over PCM controlled boost. But now im thinking once my injectors and wideband come in and it comes time for me to put the E1 in im going to have to somehow go back to PCM controlled boost. Because now all i can get is 15-16psi and im looking towards getting 21-22psi with the E1.

If you don't have it hooked up to pcm controlled boost you will need to hook it up that way as outlined in the instructions. The actuator will then work flawlessly. If you have any other questions feel free to let us know.

Alright thanks i really appreaciate you chimming in. I figured thats what i would have to do. Now im just stumped on how to hook it back up to PCM controlled boost seeing as though when i bought the car the guy had set up the vacuume lines to run off PCM controlled boost.
