Default need some advice!

As some of you know I sold my car.. The buyer had the car die on the way home from picking it up. when he picked it up it ran perfect,he drove it around Beat the crap out of it and it sat in front of my house for 20 minutes and it was running fine then.. fast foward to today I get a call syaing he can't get the alt out and Said i don't mean to be a dick but you said the car ran perfect which it did when it left my house, and I told him how was I to know the alt was going to take a dump..
He bought the car for "as is" with no warranty for 15.5k it had 10,600 miles on it and 16k in mods done to it. Should I just give him his money back and take the car back or tell him to piss up a tree? If i was in his situation I may be a little ticked of as well but Like I said it ran perfectly fine when He left and there was no way I would have known the alt was going to die as the car showed zero sign's of it going bad.. what would you do? it just pisses me off that I had the car for 3 years had no problems then someone buys it and it breaks I gave a HELL of a deal on that car and now I'm getting shit for it.

I wished I had the money, hmmm, I seriously doubt the alternator just died, mine has lasted over 5 years and over 140,000 miles, hmmm, I am wondering about the wiring

well what i think happened is the battery died as the car kind of hard started sometimes if it sat for a while which it sat for a month when he picked it up,it is a small dry cell battery as well. he said they had to jump it,drive it,jump it,drive it,etc.. now if Im right that would murder a altanator pushing it like that. I feel bad it happened but the guy is being a asshole about it.. He knows nothing about cars it's obvioius cause he's telling me there is know way to get the 02 housing off i can get it off in 5 minutes with my eyes closed. It's his fault if it was the battery and proceeded to kill the altanator the way he did, thats not my fault. I would have parked it or had it towed Put it this way he Boosted it for probaly 5 minutes pulled up in front of my house and just shut the car down didn't let it idel or anything! My heart sunk when I watched that as I put A ton of work into that car And that told me It all was for someone else to ruin I am about to tell him to eat it as It is only a minor problem battery/altanator!

thats what pisses me off the price of the car was less than the price of the mods alone without the car. I even told him if he had to have it fixed at a shop I would kick some money his way for the trouble. I am fair and honest and he thinks I lied to him somehow

My take on this is...the second the cash changed hands and you signed over the title...the warranty expired.

I would fix it if he was a bit closer. what i get from talking to him,he really dosen't know much about cars. If you have ever done a big turbo kit you know how easy it is to pull the 02 housing out. he claims he can't get to the bolts on the turbo side or get the wastegate out, to get the alternator out. he lives pretty close to n2mb and won't take it to jay cause his "buddy" claims jay don't know shit about srt 4's. I went as far to offer to split the repair bill with him. I would take the car back but it's hard to do as his bank owns the car now

fyi, a slow dying battery or one that won't hold a charge will put a strain on the alt.
your tired alt, may have been put through the ringer before the purchase.

jumping a dry cell will kill a dry cell. it is his fault he killed the battery (only).
that battery is now shot.

i just did my first big turbo yesterday on my car...it couldnt be easyer to take the o2 out. i had this same thing happen to me 2 months ago when i sold my bagged dodge ram, they guy claimed one of the air compressor shit the bed after i told him i may need to be replaced then he asked if i would go half i said hell no and told him he fryed the relay(which he did) then he was all fixed up ready to go. i just hope the kid dosent go to some cappy repair shop where they take everything apart then have boost leaks when the alternator if fixed.
