I have just about had it with this god damn car. Its one friggin thing after another and I cant take it anymore. Today I go to drive home from work and bam my car just dies and wont restart. I check everything I can think of on the side of the road (fuel pressure, spark, reset ecu, bad grounds, broken wires etc) The car had been throwing a p0171 lean code for a few weeks. I figured it was just 5 year old stock o2 sensors. Now this shit, the car would not start just turn over and almost catch. I finally did get it to start. But if you even leaned on the throttle it would shut down. Not to mention that it idles like it has stage 600 cams in it. Then after awhile, I got it to run in limp mode. Now im throwing a p0129 code. I really dont know how much more I can take of this shit. Its getting close to tearing it down and starting a new project. Im at my witts end with this god damn thing. I feel like I have a $20,000 statue
ah rant over

you can't run 11's in your neon and not expect to have issues, i have a red srt-4 that was mildly modded and only raced once and its a complete wreck sitting in front of my house, i just drive the silver one now and repair the red one...suck it up and fix it Tim....

p0129 is barometric pressure out of range .it gets set under the following condition:
if the map sensor signal is greater than 4.9v for 300 milliseconds it will set this code.
fucked up thing about this code is map runs off a 5 volt reference and isnt directly wired to the pcm.believe it or not any 5 volt sensor could cause this problem.
i went throught this with psichicks car.for those of you with a one time code reset the pcm and maybe it wont come back.
MAMADOR; i dont know how handy you are but if you check the wiring to the map sensor you will probably find the 5 volt reference pulled to a low due to a shorted sensor somewhere on the k7 5 volt supply circuit.
backprobe the 5v wire if you dont show 5 volts then start unplugging the sensors on that circuit until you see your 5v come back at the map.
one sensor shorting out will pull them all to a ground and give you whats happening.in amy's case it was the speed sensor shorting out and causing it.
sensors on that ckt are;
speed sensor
cam sensor
crank sensor
map sensor
tps sensor

79-93 Fox body, 377 stroker w/great heads. cam, carb and C4 tranny and juice. Its time to simplify things and go fast again. I may be doing that too after this car.
I will most likely just suck it up and fix it. Eric trust me I know about having issue's. This isnt the first car I have built. Its just its been one damn thing after another lately and its starting to wear on me thats all. Working on this car is becoming a chore not an enjoyable time. But I like Todd's idea the best, building an emissions car sucks

Ed thanks for that post. The more I sat here and thought about it the more I was thinking tps. It makes perfect sense to all the problems I am getting. Im going to test it tomorrow after work and see what I can come up with. Hopefully its the problem and I can get one before friday.
I keep thinking my next project nightmare will be an old school S10 with a 383 stroker, maybe even put a 60 trim on it, or 2........
I do love my car but I understand how one thing after another wears thin, I had a hard time getting my car to stop breaking stuff, but it has ran great now for almost 6 months, sort of worried bout that, definitely afraid to get on it now....LOL!!

"The Cobalt firmly grabs you and whisks you along your way instantly. It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
