Let me know when you wanna do it (preferably when it's warmer out unless you have a heated garage ). Did the cams that you picked up come with gears? If they didn't, then pick up a set of gears. Probably want to pick up a head gasket, timing belt & timing belt tensioner while we're at it.

You can get the new style fidanza gears on ebay for about $150 shipped.

TKMS sells a 5-layer head gasket for uber cheap, like $50 or 60 shipped.

Tensioner & timing belt can be bought at Napa, both for under $100.

Lyncoo is selling an ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch with 200 miles on it for only $350 shipped. That's about $300 off retail. I was thinking of buying it, but I think I'm going to stick with my CM S4 for now.

Do you have to take the whole head off for cams?

How long does it take to do cams/gears anyways?

You don't have to take the head off. Doing the cams/gears, you're probably about 75% through the process of doing the headgasket, so you might as well do it.

To do JUST cams & gears, you're talking about 3-4 hours as long as it goes smoothly.

I'd love to do em, but I figure if I get into the engine, may as well just build the whole thing.

Fuck it, stock block/head works for my needs.
