I'm thinking of organizing a BBQ/get-together that could result in a cruise after foodage.
If there are enough people willing, then I'll seriously do some planning.
I know someone who was going to have a BBQ in Purgatory Chasm State Park. I'm not sure how far away that is from a lot of you, but I know it's pretty close to me I'd offer the house, but we don't have enough parking, and it's not big enough.
If you have any ideas on where else we could have it, feel free to let me know and I'll do some research and stuff.
Also - What would you like on the menu? Just remember that MASSSRT is a REAL chef and can bang out some awesome food.
Food options:
Burgers
Dogs
Chicken (legs, thighs, breasts - depending on preference)
Brats
We could also make kabobs (chicken or beef)
It'd be a bring your own drinks (no alcohol as there will probably be driving at some point afterwards). We don't have a 48qt ice chest, so someone would have to provide one.
Because money is tight, I'd have to ask that we all chip in for this. Depending on what we decide to eat, MASSSRT and myself will make up the menu and come to a conclusion as to the cost of everything and let everyone know. We could also have people volunteer food items (someone brings the burgers, someone else brings a 12pack and some buns, yadda yadda yadda) or someone could just pay, say, ten bucks and we could get whatever is needed for it. Definitely up for discussion, if you have any ideas let me know. (Side note - if it's JUST dogs or burgers, it'd be relatively cheap, so we could probably cover that.)
I know a few people have said they'd like to have one last get together before the snow finally falls, so if we get enough people together (at least, say, 5?) then I can make the appropriate arrangements.
More input needed. Let's get this party goin'!

Hey Pie this sounds cool,
Have you seen Green Hill park in worcester? nice grounds, plenty of parking.
And close to your home so If MASSSRT cooks it will not be too far away so the food spoils.
I'm planning one for November 7th at Goddard Park in Warwick RI for 12pm with the 2gn.org people. We're all Neons deep down and a few members are bringing cars that aren't neons as well. Some of those going are members here as well for example Passt is coming up from MD. We've got a list started of who's going and who's bringing what if you guys were interested in combining the two into one, larger meet.
Not sure if anyone on here is veteran enough to remember (Nivo you were there), but it will be similar to the A55 Kickin' Cake meet from November of 05. I'm bringing a cake...again.

OK, so November 7th? hmm why is that not on the calendar of events yet?
We just came up with the idea, me and a friend from NY, a week or two ago. But now that there's interest it's picking up.
Here's a link to the thread on 2gn.org I'll have my camera so a photoshoot will be in order. Volk is bringing his as well. I'm listed as bringing a grill, but it's a small one so if anyone has small grills and wants to bring them the more grills the better off we'll be. I'm not cooking though ha ha I don't think you'd want me to!
That sounds great, but that's a horrible weekend for us. Definitely won't be able to do anything that weekend if we can change the day I'm down to help out and/or plan something.
Nope, never heard of that place, Nivo, but I'll look it up.
We have a little grill too. It's cute hehe. But if we do something close to where we live, we could do a bunch of cooking here at home and bring it with us, if we can't find enough grills, and that way it would still be warm food. Or we could reheat it on the grills.
If I can be of assistance let me know. I can get all of the locals together for this. Just let me know what you need me to do.
Thanks, man. Let everyone know it looks like it's going to be October 17th, a Saturday.
I don't know who lives where, so I don't know a fairly central location to. I went up to Winchendon this weekend and took 140 all the way from Grafton. It's an awesome road to cruise on, and there's tons of kick ass back roads to cruise on up there, too.
If any one has any ideas on where we could do the bbq - I'm thinking possibly at a state park - then feel free to let me know. If not, in between now and Wednesday, I'm going to make a list of the state parks around here and while MASSSRT is at work, drive to them and scope them out. I'll post the three I think would be best and post them up here with directions to them, and y'all could vote if you'd like.
I'd love to cruise after the bbq, so be ready!
We've got a small grill that we could bring. We could fit about 5 burgers on it at a time. So either someone else could bring a small grill, or we could use the grills that are at the park (if there are any). Or we could cook the food here and bring it to wherever we meet, and hope it stays warm :P
Either way, without input from other people, then I'm kinda on my own planning this so if you want something changed, then let me know.
id go if i didnt have to work all day.. maybe after work.. i dont get out til five though and i still havent got my car fixed fully from this accident... i should be called the zip tie srt4 right now... it kinda blows right now.. sooo much shit i have to do to it now
I'm doing okay now....I want to walk though! He casted it so I wouldn't grrrr. I don't have my car anyways it's finally getting repainted from the vandalism.
