It is crazy to see all of these SRTs in Ames. My wife and I moved down from Ames in July to Ankeny. She is still in school and drives the SRT up there every day. I have lived in central Iowa all of my life, the best tracks around are Cedar Falls, Eddyville (about 2 hours from Ames), and Earlville (TriState Raceway about 2 hours from Ames). IMO TriState is the best track in Iowa, it is where I race my rear engine dragster. The track over by Omaha has a large gathering of tuners from Omaha on Friday nights. They are starting drag race on pit lane at the new stock car track in Newton. We should set something up for the spring and I can finaly take the SRT to the track after owning it for two years. For everyone that has just moved here and by chance you need to have service work done, Stew Hansen's in Des Moines is the better of all of the evils around here.

Black, it is my car I just let her drive it. Next week it will have steelies on it for the winter. She will be done in May then it is all mine again and the mods will start.
Yes, sorry, I meant to say your car! If it is de-badged I think I see everyday. I'd be down to go to races. I don't know if my 70,000 mile stock E-Blue is up to the task though. I bought it at 60,000 miles and have no idea how the last owner drove, but judging by the way he installed the system and left some wiring, I am guessing the car has been beat.
Hey guys...I"m in Newton (1 hr away from Ames, 30 miles east of Des Moines on the I-80)...I have my car put away for winter otherwise I'd swing up and say hello. Newton has the Iowa Speedway, every Friday is Street Drags--1/8th Mile on street tires kind of deal. Unfortunately, the season is over...so you'll have to wait til next spring...
My girlfriend lives in Newton. I go there Monday and Wednesday nights...and other random nights like tonight. I may have seen you as well. I also saw a girl in a yellow SRT downtown.
yes i have taken the badges off (after the factory badges peeled). For those of you that are around Newton, have you gone to the track for the Friday night races? Just curious what it is like. Can't take my race car but would be down for the SRT4 or the dakota.
whoa race car, what kind of numbers does that thing put down?
im always down for a meet...hopefully by the that time my car will be alot faster than it is now
I still wouldn't mind going over to Newton to run with my Dakota and SRT4. It might be fun. My BFGs are about toast so maybe I will do that next spring before I get new tires. When I was racing at Tri State i noticed an older guy with a red SRT4 and slicks running. It was comical seeing a white haired guy with a golf hat on running an SRT4.
