all I need to do is figure out why my timing belt is hanging 1/4" off the gears and I will be on the road again....

the crank gear is on as far as it can go without hitting the oil pump... I am thinking it is a tensioner problem....

well, as soon as greasemonkey has some time and can get the pulley remover again I will take it apart and try to tighten the tensioner... I need to make sure it is set in tolerence....

see remember jeff your tensioner was not a 6mm hex. it was a 1/4 drive wrench that fit yours. maybe its a 05 thing. i know 04' and 03 have the hex's.. even if the belts were rearranged and moved back farther im wondering wtf is causing that. tensioner and or oil gear but thats where its suppose to be though its not suppose to be all the way against it or the gear would be rubbing on the oil pump......

i do have the puller with me if i can tommorow i will but im looking at thursday i have my E5 exam on thursday morning so maybe a day off!! im hoping though. they will make a lame ass excuse for "you need to come in we are busy" there is usualy not a fucking thing going on. ugg. work

the how-to for the timing belt addresses that some cars have the 6mm hex and some have the 1/4" but the important thing is to make sure that the alighnment marks are correct after you have to pull out the 1/4" drive to tighten the bolt.
