yea but i don't think that small of a grit would mess up the lobes. wet sand it with 1500 and oil. it just has surface rust i need to get rid of. the bottom end is completly assembled. going to put the head in tommorow. now i think im missing a part. the ring that goes around the manifold where you put the on clamp to clamp the turbo to the manifold. i don't see a ring with my parts. does anyone have one???
jeff is it lost among the pile'o parts laying in your garage?

Hey Kris, try rubbing some wd40 on the rust. It will remove alot of surface rust without scratching anything. If it doesn't work, then sand away!

I finally pulled the motor out of the truck last night. It disentigrated two rods and one piston. Broke the other piston. At least one wrist pin is shattered. Large hole on the front and rear of the driver side of the block and a large crack on the rear of the passanger side. I will get a camera from Candice and take a few pictures for everyone. There was even a chunk of a piston ring wedged between the block and oil pan bolt-That was on the outside of the block! Still have to pull the front cover to get the heads off and see the real damage. If everything goes well, the truck should be up and running in a couple weeks. All the machine shops around here are backed up. I have the block bored just need to get the rotating assembly balanced. If anyone has a connection with someone that can expedite a balance job, hit me up. Phone number is in my sig.

No, it would have to go through the intercooler to reach the blower. Chances of that happening is slim to none.

Well, let me think about this for a moment. If it is possible that coolant/oil could have reached the blower and destroyed it, then the blower would need to be replaced. Also, whipple just released their new 3.4L blower good for 800 whp. Maybe I shouldn't take a chance and go ahead and get the WHIPPLE!?!

well if chris does not i have a few paints. blue, aluminum, vht black, blue metalic, red metalic,i think yellow metallic and chrome. i have a sliver wheel coating that looks really good have 2 cans of that.

jeff did you find that ring that goes around the turbo for me? i can't really get the car running with out it. unless someone has a used turbo i can steal that ring off of until i order a new one and give you the old one back.
