GREETINGS!!
As some of you know, I spent a year in Iraq (Oct 05 - Oct 06) and while there purchased my srt4, commemorative edition, from Baxter in Omaha, car went into storage right away then upon my return I immediately moved to California, where my wife is stationed with the Marines.
My wife is now getting out, a little earlier than planned so I'm back in Nebraska. I have discovered the hard way just how awful the stock tires are on the snow, I was visiting my parents and when I tried to get up their driveway, I was unable to get traction, and while trying to slowly get back down the driveway, my car slid at about 3 mph sideways and ground to a halt against the side of my mother's school bus (she drives a rural school route, keeps the bus at her home).
Burn marks across the bumper scuffed the paint pretty good and bit a little chunk out of the bumper cover, and chipped the paint along the edge of the rear quarter, thankfully no structural damage/dents. So, got a 350 dollar repair to do, estimate wise, at Tincher Auto Body in Plattsmouth next week, not the best coming home 'gift' if you will, but it could have been worse *shrugs*
My two months of driving in San Diego were in no way shape or form a preperation for any cold weather driving heheh, I plan on either purchasing a late 90's cirrus/stratus for driving in the snow, or a set of all weather tires on steel rims. Will probably go with a seperate vehicle though because I plan on keeping my srt4 for a long time, I really enjoy the car.
Anyways, just wanted to say hello! I've been pretty active in the California forums and among the srt4 community out there, did a few of the meets, ran my car down the strip at California Speedways at Fontana and what not, looking forward to maybe getting involved with the local community here.
