Seem to be a few of us poping up now so thought we should put something together. This place used to have a real active group but it seems to have died.
Would be cool if you KC guys could come up and next one we could come down or figure out something in the middle.
Options.
Casual get together some week night or weekend to check out each others cars and maybe eat something. Maybe a cruise around the city after. Low cost, low planning
A dyno day. I will look into prices for multiple cars and we go from there. Maybe BBQ there or all bring food or go out to eat after/before.
track day during a auto x event. If you never have auto crossed its a great way to step into real racing. Cheap and fun and you get to hammer your car plus maybe learn something.
track day at a local 1/4 or 1/8 track.
Kidding, I know some love to drag but I have never seen the appeal. I would go and try to break into the 15's. Currently I ran a 16.2 from a year or so ago.
The eatting one is the easiest but wont bring the KC guys up. The rest are dependent on what track days are left and when a dyno could take us.
thoughts? What days are good?
My garage is always available to do casual wrenching on cars. No long term builds.
In seattle we used to get together once a week to eat somewhere. It was more about hanging out as then sitting on our cars. I know that may be to often for us but at least once/twice a month I would like to meet up at a local place and eat and bullshit.

Not sure if I'll have the SRT running and on the road COY, but I'd be in even if I'm just in my Avenger. Not sure about the autocross, but I'd be glad to hang, wrench, or eat.... Not sure if there are any 1/8th mile drags at the Iowa Speedway left, but thats an idea.
I'd def go if I had a couple weeks heads up and we did something worth it. To Des Moines is about a 3 hour drive for me so it'd need to be an all day thing. The guy I got the car from may be willing to go to, he's got an 04 SRT-10 Ram, 08 SRT-8 300, and an 09 SRT-8 Jeep.
Yeah he was on here with it. I've got big plans for it. I got carbon fiber hood and trunk on the way right now. After that I'm gonna do some painting I just haven't decided what I'm going to do to it yet though.

woohoo we can be twins.
For the dyno I was thinking about wrenches. Its $60 for 3 pulls but if we can get enough of us together the price will drop.
I will try to give several weeks notice, this thread was mainly to see if anyone was intrested and if so what do you want to do?
I agree with road course > auto x but auto x is much more user friendly to those who have never done it. Its a great place to start.
I am ready to do whatever. Just need a heads up, I am out of town the 19th and 20th of sept so if it is not to much to ask, another weekend is preferable. Dyno day would be fun, with that new wga I should be well into 300's for HP right COY?

Omaha half way between KC & DSM? What?

135 mi – about 2 hours 3 mins= Des Moines to Omaha.
182 mi – about 2 hours 49 mins= Kansas City, KS to Omaha.
For me though it would be around 200 miles since I am south of KCK.
Little over 3 hour drive each way for me going to Des Moines.
