The Nobel Peace Prize is worthless. I am curious though, what exactly did he do that was groundbreaking? Al Gore got one though, so that should tell people a little bit about how "prestigious" it is anymore.

Well having to carpool because you can't afford (or get) gas has a tendency to bring folks together.

I would have to say that Al Gore probably deserved it more than Obama..

Well lets see.. he hasn't really accomplished anything except for Cash For Clunkers which was a disaster. I find it humorous during his campaign he said he was going to cut the national debt in half, and then he decides to just waste more government money.

He's tripled the deficit. Is that the same as cutting it in half?

I don't think he deserves it either, but he did not "win" it 12 days into his presidency.

if you're going to argue, do it with facts. i realize that rush and beck dont, but they're better at riling up trolls than you are, Voo.

He was certainly nominated not long after taking office and nothing he has done thus far could qualify for a prize from Cracker Jacks, let along a Nobel Prize. Along with a nomination, certainly some form of narrative would need to be included outlining his accomplishments. Unless of course you are suggesting that someone can be nominated for shit they might do.

Um,when's the deadline for nobel submissions?

Obama: Nobel Peace Prize ?a call to action? - White House- msnbc.com

So Rush, and Beck are on MSNBC?

February 1st. So what did Obama do that was SO significant 12 days after he took office?
So significant that it warranted a laureate nomination?

Well if Obama is going to detain people without trial for crimes they MIGHT commit, I suppose it's valid to award the Nobel Prize for accomplishments he MAY accomplish.

But then again, the Nobel Prize isn't always known for giving the prize to peaceful people. Arafat comes to mind.
