Cliffs - advocates want all new homes to be built with wheelchair ramps, 1st floor bathrooms big enough for wheelchairs to maneuver and hallways/doorways to be wider.
Why? If you have relatives or friends with disabilities than YOU can CHOOSE to accommodate them. But if this plan falls through, YOU will HAVE TO build your home to accommodate someone else. Bullshit.
And for the resident liberals, if a handicapped person wants these features in a home, they can either pay to install them or find another house that has them already.

Absolute bullshit. Why the hell would I, a person who is not bound to a chair with wheels, want to have a house built that accommodates a person who is bound to a chair with wheels? I'm not as wide as a wheel chair so I don't need wide hallways and door ways. Homes that are built for wheel chairs are fucking ugly and look retarded.

I agree with Jim...more socialist agenda crap. It'll start at the state level and elevate to the federal level when some socialist politican gets wind of it. I could care less about anyone else's social/economic/health problems.
If I felt the need to give money to someone I'd donate to one of the organizations out there that are non-profit and work to handle such issues. The more we are taxed the less these organizations get....

Thats true. We had a "crazy" in a town near me that said people should not smoke in their own homes. People laughed it off, but it wasnt much longer and it was the law. They made it a fire issue saying it was for safety. I dont even smoke but that is insane. Now the Federal government is wanting to monitor peoples weight (as part of health care) so they can tell you how to eat. You can laugh it off if you want. Hell Obama even said we cant set our thermostats at 72 degrees because the rest of the world dont like it.
