Evidence Bush frequently manipulated the "Terror Alert" level for political gain
Former head of the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, has a new book coming out soon. According to his book, when he was working for the Bush administration, he revealed the following:
"Ridge was never invited to sit in on National Security Council meetings; was "blindsided" by the FBI in morning Oval Office meetings because the agency withheld critical information from him; found his urgings to block Michael Brown from being named head of the emergency agency blamed for the Hurricane Katrina disaster ignored; and was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush's re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over.
Wow . . . what a surprise!!! This is one of many reasons why I think this whole "terrorist threat" is bullshit and that all of the scanning they do at the airport is a waste of time.
Okay right-wingers. Your turn. Why was it okay for Bush to do this?
Hell, the Democratic party flaunts Global Warming and tells old people that medicare will run out if national healthcare doesn't become a reality. How are those for scare tactics?
