Might have to move there and was currious what it's like there.
Haven't heard anything good to be honest... So I figured I'd ask in a forum with ppl of similar interests.
- Do you have inspection / emission stuff?
- Front plates?
- What's the legal racing like? Lot's of AutoX and so on?
- What's the not so legal racing like? Lots of ppl on the street?
- What about living in the country side? Can one buy land for cheap?
- Gunlaws... is having fun legal?
Yeah, might be the wrong forum for some of those, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

No inspections or emission tests.
No front plates.
There are plenty of AutoX events, and several road courses throughout the state.
Not so legal racing can be found easily on Woodward and Gratiot, as well as other areas. If you don't know these road names, you will soon in the Detroit area.
Not so sure about land, depends on the exact area you are talking about. Home prices have dropped well over 50% depending on area.
I have my CPL, carry daily, and I am an avid gun right supporter, shooter, etc. What exact questions do you have about ownership?
The car scene is maybe the best in the nation. Summer time in Michigan is great, plenty of car events and shows. You'll love Woodward, maybe 5-10 minutes from Troy. Plenty to look at. Winters, economy, job security and trying to get out all sucks right now.

Yea, that about sums it up.
Don't forget shitty torn up roads, and you always know it is spring. The orange barrels are in bloom.
Barrels? Sorry, didn't get that one.
Construction maybe?
So to sum up:
-Car stuff: AWESOME
-Terrain of the state: sucks
-Living in the country: possible, but huge commute
-Guns: better than NY
-Job / economy / jadajada: I'm an automotive engineer... do I have a choice?

Yes construction here sucks. Even with the construction the roads still suck. To move out into the country you'll have to travel about 45 mintues from troy. It most likely wont be 10 acres like you want be you can find some north west of troy.
