After already generating some good interest in the NE Ohio thread. I felt it'd be more appropriate to open this up to everyone in the Midwest forum so we can all get on board and share our success stories and journeys in this program.
For those that don't know much about it. P90X is a workout program that some people have seen advertised on TV. For most, it may appear to be just another workout "gimmick" but infact, it has developed quite a following on youtube - success stories are
HERE.
Basically the program is available to be purchased
Beach Body - P90X. While this program is expensive and most people can't justify the costs of it, there are other "alternatives" on acquiring the videos through various internet sites....that's all I'll say about that.
Besides the video, all you'll need to get started is the following:
Chin-up/Push-up Bar
Resistance Bands:
Yoga Mat
All of which can be purchased from your local Walmart/fitness store.
Now like any of the other programs out there in the world. Results require two main things. A drive and motivation to keep on schedule and push yourself, and a decent diet. NO program out there will give you the results if you do it half-assed 1-2x a week and eat nothing but junk food. So your milage will vary based on what you put into it - plain and simple.
If anyone has any real questions or anything about the program, just let me know. I'm far from an expert but I'll try and answer as best as I can.
Also, showing others your progress and success stories is often the best way to inspire others to get involved and/or push yourself farther.
I'll start with myself. Basically in January, I weighed 145. Long time since I've done any form of exercise, my metobolism started to slow down on me and I started to notice it in my body...I started to see a gut and just felt an overall loss of energy. So I decided then to start eating right and make a better effort to work out lifting weights. (No real program established yet) March rolls around and I've lost 13 lbs (down to 132) mostly in my gut and I started to develop some defination in my upper body.
This first picture was taken March 18th and here's where I stood:
Now I didn't start on P90X until April 10th...and here is a pic taken of me only after approximately 3 weeks into the program on April 26th:
So as you can see, the results are there, ONLY if you want to get them. And this program along with the support of others on this forum will help you get there! So post up your before/after and progress pictues and let's get the ball rolling!!
