so I rebuilt my turbo. I drove it. It smoked still. Figured it was just the oil burning off the turbo housing and what not (I tried pouring some in the hole for the feed after rebuild to make sure there was oil on everything-even tho I put a thin layer on it all as I assembled). so anyways, yeah smoke smoke smoke. on gas, off gas, idle. WTF. got home was looking around.............. my feed line was touching the downpipe (i thought no big deal, feed line is braided). big deal. where it's touching, theres a shit ton of oil.

my smoke was from my fresh oil basically running down my mega hot downpipe.

nice. did i need turbo rebuild? yes. did i need this too? no. lol.

headed to summit in a few to source some line. found part #'s online, believe it or not... they are for banjos and braided line for brake lines. interesting.

did you have the turbo balance properly after the rebuild? if you didn't then thats probably what was wrong.

Didn't you already have a huge portion repainted after the accident?

I marked the housing (not sure if that's what it is really called, the part that the shaft rotates within, the outermost part--it's round) on either side [kinda--lined up a fin on the other side with a hole] and then upon reassembling, lined the marks up. I was going by a how-to from some volvo forum for the TD04. I turned it by hand and it wasn't hitting anything, but who knows at speed. I was going to pull some hoses off soon and check everything is ok.

I also turned the boost down via the wastegate. It actually feels faster now because it stays more rich ftw. I kinda got into it with a Lotus yesterday
