Default Motorcycle peeps of the midwest

Anyone ride around these parts? I do . I have a 2003 BuellXB9SL and just put a new back tire on it. I have been riding it all week and loving it all over again. Just wondering what kinda bikes other srt owners have in the MIDWEST.

Does it count that I _used_ to be in the midwest ??

2000 VFR800 Pearl Yellow 18,000 miles...

It has had daily workouts on the roads around S.E. Pennsylvania this week.. the weather is awesome... This winter it needs rear tire, brakes, chain, valve clearance check. <sigh>

Ebbtide has an SV650 with a few mods and he still lives in S.E. MI....

I don't care for the XB9S's chopped butt and cramped ergos...

HOWEVER, Erik and the boys HAVE created something that has peaked my interest.... The Ulysses

You put 18,000 miles on it? Thats alot. I average around 3,000 a year. Wish it was higher but my job makes me run parts around which I can't do on the bike so I have to take the car to work 90% of the time.

Well, I made time for weekend strafing runs thru the farm roads west of Stockbridge, MI... 250 - 300 miles per Sunday morning run.. Didn't happen often but it adds up...

Plus, I have been riding it for 4.5 seasons.... That's only 4000 miles average per season..

I start riding annually after the second good rain to rinse the snow/salt away until the first snow. As long as it's 35-85 degrees I ride... While I was in S.E. MI, I had to drive company cars as part of work ( ), so I rode to work (~16 miles) less frequently than now ....

My drive to work is only 3 miles now... When I ride the bike in, I make the commute 23-30 miles :-)..... I ride because I WANT to get somewhere on my bike... not because I HAVE to..

-Doc

I tell people that my bike gets me 40MPG so it is really cheap to ride. The fact is that my ride to work takes about 20 min and my drive takes like 7 min. My ride home takes all day some days. My drive home takes 7 minutes. The money I save in gas I burn up just riding around because I wanna. I can't recall the last time I took my car out just to drive around for hours unless it is for street racing. My bike comes out for hours at a time just for the heck of it. I do get lost on my bike way more than I get lost in my car too.

I'm in north west ohio AKA Oregon ohio

I went 12.8 on my bike. LOL she is a pig but does pretty welll in the corners.

Matter of fact thats how I ended up with the Buell. I had a 1200XL Custome Sportster that I rode for about a year. Vector and I would go find roads with alot of corners in it and I was wearing out my shoes and exhaust pipes from them dragging on the ground. So I figureded I needed something alittle more like a sport bike. Enter the Buell.
