Saw a red one down around Armor road and north oak in NKC today about 4:45pm. I have also been seeing a black one up north around Zona Rosa. Post up anymore you guys see here. I wanna race wanna these so bad . I am starting to see more of them out and about so hopefully I will get my chance soon.
Yo, i just got my yellow ss like 2 weeks ago. I wanted the srt4 so badly but since it wasnt my money, and my dad had bad luck with dodge, he bought me the cobalt ss. The car doestn seem fast. You can take one pretty easily probably. They sell almost nothing for the ss's. Rumor has it that GM is "suppose" to come out with upgrades like the mopar upgrades for the srt4. Don't get me wrong, I love my SS, however, I love the srt4 even more. I had my mods planned out for so long. I knew what I was going to get and when I was going to get it. I want to dyno my car after shes broken in.
brent, i saw a black one yesterday....it was pulling out of a housing place down by newmark school/northoak/ that area...so way up north on north oak, is where i saw it. i waved and revved, but he went the other way. =\
and ive seen a red one, but the black one looked better, imho. only a matter of time until we get to meet them..hopefully they are cool and not asshats..ya know?

Nice to meet you. I think the Cobalt SS looks really nice. Don't worry about upgrades. I heard GM is coming out with their "phase" upgrades a year after the car has been out. So I would say next summer we should se some modded Cobalts running around.
Nice to meet you too. I sure hope that GM comes out with upgrades, or anyone for that matter. I opted for the extended warranty so I really don't want to go the aftermarket route and ruin the warranty. I also hope that the dealerships will keep the car under warranty with the GM upgrades. If not, it looks like that I will have a 205 hp car for about 6 years

SRT 4's are so easy to mod and they respond so well that it would only take maybe 2 to 3 mods to get into the low 13's (mostly the reason why I wanted the SRT4 ) My first mod will be a 12" sub, if you consider that a mod. Hopefully that will be put in by the end of next week.
If you race a Cobalt SS you will own it. I have raced several and put buslengths on those "fast" cars that are over priced. When all i had was exhaust I seriously had like 6 carlengths buy the time we hit the middle of 3rd. They are ridiculous. Dont waste your gas. /rant

Ive got two 12" JL Audio W3 subs in a box, powered by a 200 watt PPI powerclass amp for sale for 400 bucks. At a DB drag this 'underpowered' setup ran 139 db. Retail when I bought the puppies was just under 800 dollars. If anyone is interested, PM me.
After personally seeing a black cobalt SS and a red SS I actually like the way they look. But what's funny is I've ran into two people now that think the cobalt is like a ferrari or something. I stopped at advanced auto parts to get my K/N oil filter and he was telling me that he heard the cobalt ss could beat a 03/04 cobra. And I'm like naaawwwww I don't think that's the case. (laughing to myself) And the second time somebody said they could run with an 05 corvette. And I'm like WTF (to myself). So when new vehicles come out people will believe anything until they've been around awhile and actually encounter one for theirselves. But yeah, I like the way the cobalt ss looks. Anything can be made to go fast, just making it go fast is what it takes.
Yeah they definately can't beat a 03/04 cobra or hang with a vette. My friend drove me in his 05 evolution (first time in a lancer evolution) and I think that it would destroy my SS, but then again I still don't know how to drive stick that well, so pretty much my brother with his base cobalt with 145hp can keep up wiht me i'm getting there though

i went to a chevy dealer here in KC, and asked about the SS. he said as soon as they get them, they sell them (BS). i was like "well, ive been up here at least 5 times since january, and each time, you guys said you would call me when you had one in....so where is my phone call?"
of course, he didnt have an answer. so i asked him when they would be getting more, and he said, and i quote "well, we wont be getting any more 05's in, thats a fact. BUT you can put in an order for an 06, but i believe they require a $5000 down payment."
hahaaha..and no wonder chevy has to extend its 'employee sales' a couple extra weeks to make sales go up. hiring douche salesmen and asking for that much on a downpayment on a car thats not even out yet, let alone, the lack of sales from their 05's in this area. haha..what a joke.
