Default Hotel stay for the OHIO track day

Ok guys....I need to know what everyone wants out of a hotel.

I want to try and get everyone around the same area.

Here is my thoughts.... I think we should all stay in The North olmstead area. There are plenty of places to eat, shop and sleep. Also thats where the after hours cars hang out. Alot of fast cars to play with.

Some want to stay by the Track in Norwalk. Here is why i dont like that idea...

The dyno will be over at 10pm on sunday. If you stay at the track, you will have a 70 mile ride home to the hotel at norwalk. Not to mention if u come to hang with us after the dyno, [in NOlm] we usually play untill around 2am.

Now if u stay in North OLM, its only a 30 mile ride from the dyno, you can stay out all night and not have to drive 40 miles to Norwalk that night. Also we may go to a bar to have some beers, driving afterwards is not a good idea.

So u see, staying in the Nolmstead area is a better idea. IT will have much better hotel rooms, its a half way point from the dyno and track, and there is alot more to do.

So post your thoughts here. I need to get this figured out this coming week. I am willing to do what ever you guys want.

yeah , nice place and safety i think should come first , it would really suck to come out in the morning and not be able to drive to the track because there's no wheels on my car.

I assume most people are looking at a Saturday night and Sunday night stay?

Also, typically checkout is around 11 AM or 12... what are we supposed to do with our stuff while at the track? Maybe we can negotiate a late checkout, maybe 4 or 5 PM??

I agree w/ ya aaron, somewhere in between Norwalk and the dyno. It's as fair as it's gonna get. If someone wants to stay close to the dyno or closer to the track, I think they will be able to find their own place to crash. I would assume a majority of the people will wanna stick together.

I guess I will go with the majority on this one, but I would like to sleep near the track since I know the area is alittle cheaper room wise and I can sleep longer in the morning. But Like I said I will stay where most everyone is staying. Because I wanna feel like I have friends.

I have friends that work for Marriot, (which includes a ton of different hotels in the chain) and one happens to set up big events at his Marriot in Ann Arbor for Football Teams, etc. Im sure he will help us out but I have NO idea of the area and what hotels or cities even are around there. I did see one in North Olmstead, a Courtyard hotel. Anyway, if someone knows the area and wants to go to the Marriot website and get me the names of some of the hotels you think are in the area I can get ahold of him and see what kind of group rate he can set us up with. Marriot's tend to be pretty nice hotels!!

I made some calls and it's not that much cheaper for the group rate at the nice hotel, we would be better just going to a cheap place. We should just stay at the cheapest place we can find and make go_Blue_2 sleep in his car and make sure no one messes with ours.
