Default Home for the SRT

Well I had a good time while I was back home driving around and seeing Americans again. So here is a short story of the events that happened.

Thursday 13Leave the wife and kid at the airport and fly to Atlanta. Arrive and the airline decides to hold the plane for a late arriving flight. Arrive in Minneapolis 1/2 hour late and my mom and her boyfreind are there to pick me up. Take a long drive out to Eau Claire and stop at Cadott to sneak a peak at my new car (no luck tho they do have a blue w/viper seats.... should have went with blue). Friday call the dealership about paying the T.T.&L. Didn't think of getting a money order from my bank here in Germany and they don't take out of state checks. So my mom's boyfreind comes home from work and he pays with his credit card (that was the best damn thing anybody has ever done for me, especially since this is my first time meeting him) finally all the paperwork is taken care of, the dealership even has the plates for it already. So we (mom, her Bf and me) take it for a quick spin tomake sure everything is ok. 18 MILES! Dealership had some fun. Running up the gears 1st...., wooa that thing takes off. 2nd... damn turbo is cool. 3rd..... Gggggrrrrriiiiinnnnndddd damn gotta get use to the gear pattern. So the next week I drive the car everywhere I can and help my mom move 40 miles away. First problem appears later in the week, damn gauges decide they don't want to work, dash lights work, boost gauge works but dash gauges are null, ugh. Disconect the battery for a few minutes and reset. Wheeew all is ok. By friday I have over 700miles, Oh yeah breakin it in. Friday went to take a tour and Dunwoody Tech for mechanics, looks cool. Sat go to Rays for the MN meet. I leave Eau Claire after a car wash and there is a slight drizzle nothing serious. Cross over to MN border, slight flurries. Get to 494 SNOW!... NO! so I take it easy and grandma is passing me in her GEO Metro that has some extra natural fenderwell clearance. I have to pull over to call ray to make sure I'm on track. Ok all is well I didn't miss it. Ok shift to reverse... Zzzziiinnngg ok I didn't go anywhere so after a little work and ride the clutch I finally start moving and back on the highway at 25 mph, '04' stock tires are CRAP! Make it to Ray's ok without a prob. I realize that I will not be able to make it out of the Twin Cities on stock tires. Ray is so kind a calls around and takes me to Tires Plus to get some decent tires. $240 dollars later and I'm finally actally able to drive. On my way out from Rays on MN 5 and 494 junction there was a bit of construction and a slight S-turn before entering 494. I did notice the snow was so compacted it was ice, I was traveling at a comfertable speed and wouldn't have any problems as long as I don't put on the brake or jerk the steering wheel it will be good..... Well.... The dumb fuck drivers in front of me want to slam on the brakes before entering the highway. Well.... there goes the back end passing me, no room to give it gas to keep it straight either so I steered in and tried to find the best spot it was between a metal sign and those damn big orange construction barrels. I hear a big thud and the car stops perfectly NO DAMAGE, ALL SNOW BABY!! That monday I drive to my dads north of Duluth the car sits for the most part of the week. Friday I drive thru Duluth and the engine is idling high up to 3,000 rpms when I'm off the gas and clutch is in, so now it looks like I wanna race a guy in a Ford 150 in the snow, everybody is looking at me ugh. Let the car sit for about an hour or two and everything is ok. I pick my cousins up on the way back down to Eau Claire. Pass thru Eau Claire and head twords Wausau and a highly modded CRX with an Accord and I think it was a Civic blow by me, I was doing 75mph. Still in 5th I gas and get what boost I can to catch up quick. So for about 60-70 miles I play with them down the highway, engine reving, and back and forth fun stuff (Sorry I don't race in straight lines). Sunday bring my cousins back and eat Thanksgiving at the casino in Hinkley. Get back home late Monday, Tuesday get my oil changed for storage and mileage....<- Yes that is correct. Add a little mod to the $20 Catch Can (will be posted under Modifications) Wash the car that afternoon real good. Mother's is awsome!. That evening it went into storage to sit till April/May. Finale mileage.........3670.
Sit without a car for a day on Wensday, so tempting to pull it out one last time. Thursday wake up at 530 in the mourning and get to Minneapolis at 900 all Atlanta flights are cancelled due to freezing rain. So after a little work I was rerouted to Amsterdamn and finally at 1100 in the mourning thrusday I arrive in Germany... Blah I hate this place......

That was my fun time home sorry it's so long I made it as simple as possible cutting out alot of detail.

Overall..... I love the SRT I couldn't be happier with any other car. Everybody turns to see it... I LOVE IT!!!!

Well thanks all it was a good time can't wait to do it again. I'll have pics up hopefully tomorrow.
