Default help on shifting/launching the SRT *i've searched*

ok the launching part i pretty much have down its just go out and find whats best for you, but on shifting this is my first manual car so when you guys race how do you shift i fully let off the gas hit the clutch, shift then back to the gas, i know that you want to powershift but im almost scared to do so it seems like it would cause so much damage, so how do you guys do it?

the best runs are the ones that feel the slowest (assuming your launching on street tires). the moment you start to spin, its done, so take it easy. As far as shifting, might be a good idea to do the 1-2 shift regularly and save the power shifting for everything else. kinda depends.

There may be a DBB 50 trim that's been added since then...

being that you have a 3002 model srt-4 im not sure if you have the limited slip or not. i seem to get the best results with a little bit of spin out (and that comes with wheel hop of course) which likely is only a one wheel peel in my 2003. if you catch my vid in the "Shifting" thread in Drag Racing you can tell ive got the tires spinning a little bit off the line. that was a 2.132 sec. 60' on pilot sports hailing about 20,000 spirited miles. not the best launch time, but a good one no less.

good luck & sorry if i came off as an ass in my first post. i didnt mean anything by it, just being a smartass like usual.
