Emission question for ill.

Well I never found a definite answer for this one. I am well aware there will be a CEL check or some ecu diagnostics. Well for those who have been to emmssions or know the emssion procedure in IL. I would want to know if they will ever do a smog test. The reason why is because I want to go catless if you know what I mean

i havent had a cat on my last 4 cars ive had never had a smog test done to any....90% of the emission testing sites dont use smog anymore....some people say they have like a mirror underbody but i dont believe that 2 many places have that.......

Damn if thats the case with the mirror thing over here...then Ima have to buy a highflow cat and gut that shit out. Thanks for giving your .02

what i would recomend just get rid of the codes that are getting thrown...and go try it...worst case u got back and try it again with the high flow cat

Lol....screw spending the extra $$$ on buying a new cat, I am just going to see how the emissions go, if they are good, then off I go with the extra 15 or so hp.

What stage PCM? If its a rear o2 code do the spark non-fouler mod. If your local Ill do it for you, I have a few in my tool box.

Where do you live and also? I live in Gurnee area. Im guessing you live not here becausse I'm the only silver around here. Also, what if they do a smog? I'm stage 0... But yea hit me up on where you live.

I have stage 1 ECU and passed smog test 2 weeks ago with downpipe (because stage 1 ECU turns off 2nd O2 sensor so no CEL)

They did NOT look for a cat.. (not that they could see it anyway on our cars the way it's up high out of sight anyway)

No Smog test? .....welll you have stage 1....I need that non fouler plug.

All Illinois does is plug into the OBD-II port and check for emissions codes.

yes, very true.. no CEL on mine so I passed no problem with stage 1 ecu and no cat
