Default Cincy Stripe removal and window tint?

I'd like to get my rear 3 windows tinted and also my 8" stripes removed from the car. I'd do it myself (minus the tint) but I'm in Iraq so the wife will be handling it. but she's not having any luck at finding a shop that does vinyl removal. If anyone can help out with a shop that would be great. Thanks!

All ya gotta do is heat it up a little, a hair dryer works...peel up a corner with a razorblade, or something...then just peel slowly. It's really simple, just takes time and patience.

dont use a razor blade, use something like a credit card/giftcard (perferably one expired or cancelled) works great and wont ruin the paint.

I'm going to guess his wife won't be so handy with a razor and hairdryer as he would.

BINGO..... I guess they didn't catch the part where I'm in Iraq.....

If I was there I'd do it myself like I said. Thats no worry. But I don't get out of this hell hole (IRAQ) until later this year.... like the winter and I'm only going to get 2 weeks back in the states when I do get out. I don't want to spend hours in the cold ass garage with a hairdryer trying to do this. I'd rather have her spend a couple hundred getting them removed and tint put on now while the weather is decent and a shop will be more willing to do it as it doesn't have to pull the car inside to have it heated up.

On the other hand..... I will pay someone if they have the experience in this field to get the stripes off. I don't want some yin yang who thinks he can do it.... I want someone who has done it before and knows what they are doing. I don't want to come home to a car with gouges in the paint cause said person was a retard in the end and fucked up my car. *LOL* So if anyone can hook a brotha up I got a few bux I can float yer way.

And no one has chimed in on tint. ANYONE?

If it's been on awhile the top stripes ...especially the hood is a bitch. Gets baked on. especially silver. Mine was a bitch to get off. With hairdryer, plastic scraper and pb sticker remover. Hood came off in tiny pieces. Took forever...very tedious. Don't put her through it if you love her.

I trust my wife to do "other" important stuff...... cooking cleaning making babies.... Shit like that. When it comes to the car I cringe when I think of her trying to figure out what gas to put in it. If it weren't for the detailed explanation I gave her of what would happen if she didn't put at least 91 in it she'd be putting the 86 at Sunoco in the damn thing. Couple that with us having a 4 month old kid at the house and she's not going to sit outside for a couple of hours with the car trying to remove stripes. Its not going to happen.

Ok.... so who put on the tint? I would assume that a shop that can put on vinyl can also take it off? I'm not going to ask my wife to spend hours sitting out by the car taking the stripes off. Not going to happen. I'm really suprised that no one can offer up anything to help?

You know me man I'm willing to help. Let me know when she has free time and she can come to the house or I can pick it up while she is at work.

Well..... She decided that once a day she'll pick another body panel and try to take the stripes off. So far she's got the wing done. *LOL* She'll start on the rear bumper tomorrow, then the trunk, the roof and the front bumper. Leaving the hood for last. She said there's a yellow residue under the stripes.... I'm assuming its the adhesive. So now once she gets this done I'll need a good detailer and a tint man. *LOL* Anyone??!?!?!?!?

The place where I got mine done is great. Off of Dixie Highway can't think of the name right now but I have had 2 of my cars done and friends were happy as well. Tell your wife to try mineral spirits on the residue or some 409. Tell her to leave it outside today if she can for awile to heat up the glue then wipe it off.
