Re: INCH LB TO FT LB

You can find that conversion on the Torque conversion page here:

Online Conversion - Torque Conversion

To convert foot pounds to inch pounds, multiply by 12.
To convert inch pounds to foot pounds, divide by 12.

Iv done that exact conversion and snapped a bolt off in the head doing that division. I dont know if the tq wrench was fucked or what but i snapped one off.

Some one chime in with some good news...

Ok so I had my Intake mani powder coated and when i was putting it back on I think i cracked the manifold???? So I put permatex on the head, then put the plastic spacer/gasket on, then put permatex on the manifold and line it all up and put it on. So i put the top 3 bolts on and get them tight (didnt tq them because i didnt bring a in tq wrench, dumb i know). So im tightening the bolts down, nothing crazy just tight. then i noticed the left ear(hole for the bolt behind the thermo housing) has a crack in the powder coat ! Now when i bring this to the attention of the guy that hooked me up with the powder coating(V8 nation) he states the hole ear has to be cracked off for the powder coat to crack. Theres supposedly NO WAY this powder coat will crack....yea yea right. I will have pics up tonight but do you think i could have cracked that entire ear? I would figure the bolt would break long long before the manifold???

Any input please, im a big guy so im fairley strong but i know the difference between straight breaking a bolt tight and just tight...

If anyone has the ModernPerformance engergy suspension bushings.

If you can do me a very very great favor, and take a picture of the FRONT stabilizer links for me. I THINK I might have them on upside down, and that may be my noise problem. I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds weird...I would guess the coating or bolt would fail first? Maybe it got dropped during shipping?

what shipping, i took it to him, hes a local. But thanks for the input. Im on the exact logic as you, i have broke bolts off(while using a tq wrench at that ) i figured i would hear a snap long before that metal would break.

It has to be the powder coat.

Not a bad idea.

A guy in Chicago has already put a SRT-4 mill in a Shelby Daytona with a 60 trim, and another one in a Mini Van. And has the dwgs for the mounts and brackets etc. Maybe a nice return gift for me!

BTW SmokinSRT bought the mini and it is now lurking in the area with 25 psi so HEADS UP mfers for a stealth mini.

My rail will be done in a few days and then some tuning outta be at Edgewater on the 12th.
