Default Chicagoland Mustang Club vs. Chicagoland SRT Club *VIDEO AND PICS*

The Chicagoland Mustang Club had a shootout vs. the Chicagoland SRT Club on Sat. May 7th....CMC took three of the four trophies in the event (Low 11 Sec winner('04 Cobra), Low 12 Sec winner(Vortech'ed GT) and Low 13 Sec Winner('04 Mach 1)- the CSC guys won the low 14 sec trophy....)- The event was a great time w/ around 100 cars attending and racing...and though I am a diehard Mustang enthusiast...I enjoyed racing against the SRT-4's as they ARE American cars and can definitely get up and move!!! Much respect all the way around!

The video of the event can be seen at:

That's pretty sweet, looks like fun.

Is it just me or does the track look like it runs downhill?

WOW, SRT's won the low 14 sec club ... sorry but thats not good

I'm sorry but I was expecting the SRTs to do a lil better. I guess I've been watching too many modded SRTs womping on the GTs/Cobra videos.

You have seen very few modded SRT's womping on cobras. GT's? sure. Cobra's? Very few.

It was actually closer than you think. The trophies were not good for comparisons.

Our top guy ran a 12.41 @ 114 with Stage 3 (slicks)
We also had 12.59 w/ stage 3 and 12.61 w/ stage 2 (both drags). Most of the mustangs I saw were running 14 low-mid. A lot of our guys were running mid 13s.

The cobras, on the other hand... Let's just say I saw an 11.4

We are actually two very closely matched clubs. Next time trophies won't go to whoever got the closest to a flat second without going under. Yeah a 14.0 rocks, but a 13.9 get's you dead last in your grouping.

Agreed~! I'd like to see some sort of bracket racing at our next shootout! All in all though, it was a great time and many a driver's first time at the track- so the lower times were expected! Hell I have a Mach 1 and I posted only a 13.8---but then again, I'm on a brand new clutch and was granny shifting like crazy...

Did that purple 05 gt really run a 14.9? Or was I reading that wrong?
