Well here's the whole deal...Keep in mind my goal is to fix this up over time - not necesarily for racing, as I still need it as a daily, but I want it in the best shape it can be in.
My wifes grandfather owns a shop in Chicago. He got this SRT from auction - it was in a small front end. The guy who had it before returned it to stock before going to auction, and I don't think he did a great job. So that plus the fact that my wifes grandfather is an oldtimer and has different views on what to do to fix the car, has caused other issues. It came with an SXT bumper - I already got an SRT one. I'm pretty sure he got an SXT front clip, because 1. It's black (not blue) 2. the left fender comes over the fusebox by just a hair, but it's enough that the fusebox cover is scratched up 3. the bumper doesn't fit perfectly, it comes out about a quarter/half inch and there is a bit of a gap on the right headlight 4. when fixing a boost leak on the hotside pipe I noticed the pipe was a bit pinched by the bottom of the clip.
As far as electrical...Everything is taped with electrical tape. Wires all over have been spliced into. The pass side radiator fan doesn't work, the pass side fog lamp doesn't work (bulb is ok), and I had an issue I needed to take it to the dealship for and they expressed quite a bit of concern for the electrical system. He had used about 2-4 gauge wire and grounded EVERYTHING. There's more ground wire in there than is needed. Along with wondering about the electrical items, no vac lines are setup either-that's not a huge deal, just another issue. He obviously pulled his pipes and BOV off to sell - it still has a BOP with no BOV. My BOV comes this week. I've already managed to pull some of the uneeded wires out for the wideband A/F, and will be puling out the wireing for the boost controller (which unfortunately he didn't include) soon.
Even with all the items, it drives like a dream. Yes, it's a lot of work, but I'm willing to take it on. Plus it had 13k miles on it and I picked it up for less than 10k.
You can kind of see the fusebox issue and all the grounding wires here
and here it's hard to see the gap on the hood, but it's the best pic of it I have with the new bumper.
It'll be better with time and money. =)
