Exclamation 14.8 @97.9 mph?????????

ok so i went to us41 to get a baseline before i do any major mods. all i have now is an sts and a mopar bov with the spring mod spiking at 17psi and holding at 14.5. the best i could do was a 14.8....what the hell?? is it me? do i not know how to drive or what? it was like 78 degrees out with a 20 mph wind blowing into the track, but i dont think that will hurt my time that bad. shouldnt this thing run like a 13.9??? any feedback would be appreciated thanks.

p.s. i dropped tire pressure down to 25psi but traction was not to be seen until about 3 gear....wtf?

first thing take the spring mod off. second learn to get off the line better. your 60' times should be around 2.2-2.3 with a good launch you should be able to do at least a 14.0

ok come off starting line easy like you would at a stop lite then get in to it if the tires start to spin in 1st then go into 2nd rite a way.shift between 5500 and 5800.take air filter out but put airbox top backon.leave tire preasue at 24 to 26 and 40 in rear tiresi also put a towel in bottom of air box then fill air box with ice just below the intake hole to the intercooler.if you can get dry ice then put it in bottom of air box then put reg ice over it .stock with little wheel spin and no head wind you should go 13.90 and 103 mph at sea level.

Its probably 41, that track is almost always slick. Whenever I got, its nothing but wheelhop/spin 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd. Go to 66, and watch your times drop ALOT!

yeah that 2.7 is hurting ya. if you can get it to 2.3 or so, you'll at least be running a 14.2 at the minumum. don't let bad track conditions let ya down. what are you launching at?

i didnt know there was so much to consider when launching. i thought i would go to the track and lay down low 14's to high 13's. i guess i look like the ass now

na ur cool dude. to be honest, i'm still tackling this car w/ launches. i don't get to hit up the track as much as i want. the ideal rpm range you wanna launch at is between 1800 rpm and no more than 2000k rpm on stock tires. if your launching at 3k and just gunning it. that's gonna hurt your 60ft times a lot.

i c thanks a lot. yea i dont get to go to the track barely at all, plus its 20 just to run on a test day. ill start using my g-tech and see if i can pull better times. hell im used to just pressing both pedals until green and letting off the brake theres a lot more technique in launching a manual, which requires more skill
