Seems like his gripe was mainly not being able to understand the story. Which I'm sure it took most fans of the series a while to grasp what was going on, but all in all if you're a fan of the series you'll love MGS4. It met my expectations and then some.
well thats the thing jim,.. you're not a "gamer".. you're the casual "ill play madden for a few minutes" guy, and there's nothing wrong with that.. it's just not the market that sony is shooting for.
you know exactly what i mean, and if i was wrong.. sony wouldn't be relying on *every* next big game to sell their system. not that they aren't making steps..the 360 is about to fall on it's face in comparison... but they still have commercials running showing 2 out of 3 games that are still not on shelves.
fact.
the people who don't care about this are EXACTLY the people like jim, who just wanna grab a few sports games, and maybe something that looks cool on the shelf in the store(not necessarily because he researched it and knows that the game is critically acclaimed or that it got mediocre 6/7 review scores).
the people who DO read into games, who DO consider themselves "hardcore gamers"(and i hate that term, but you know what i mean), probably own GTA4, Resistance, MGS4, COD4, and MAYBE Assassins Creed and Uncharted(both of which are decent to great games, but don't have the wide appeal of the others)

What commercial? The one that shows Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, MGS4 and LBP? 2 out of 3 are on the shelves. Its still lame to show a commercial for a game that nots coming out in a while though with Little Big Planet.
Just like all of his reviews, good for a laugh. lol It could be his favorite game and he would still take shots at it, which is why I enjoy watching them. His SSBB review is hilarious!
