im not sure what you mean about wii's connectivity.. can you phrase that a little better? i want to respond but i want to make sure i get what you're saying first.
Well last time I checked, and I could be wrong, nintendo hasnt developed a structured online experiance for the Wii. It could just be me but I wouldnt have bought a 360 if Live wasnt as good (read:sometimes) as it is now.
I think a standardized structure for online play via hardware would make the Wii more competitive in the eyes of 360/ps3 gamers, cause right now besides Brawl there arnt that many "hardcore" games for the system.
Dont get me wrong, snes, n64 all had super killer apps, hell I bought my n64 for the mario game which basically defined how the 3d action adventure genre should be and golden eye was ridiculously fun even single player. I just wish they pushed 3rd party developers or even 1st to make that must have game like they used to have.
Until that happens, atleast for me, I dont even consider it in the console wars because it doesnt offer as much (granted not everyone NEEDS a blueray/dvd player, mp3 player, internet browser etc etc in their console) as the other systems and hardware wize I just see them being extremely limited on future games.
Its always argued like trying to port cod4 to the Wii would make the thing explode, but then one thing Nintendo systems have always provided is that fun factor over graphics and perhaps limiting they system like they did was to reflect that

yeah, you're right.. nintendo is definitely more focused on in-room multiplayer as opposed to online. it's a japanese design philosophy(they are more social when it comes to gaming). i guess its just a bigger deal for some people. personally, i have a live subscription and i dont even know why. i played skate online for about an hour and got called names by so many 12 year olds like rasp that it turned me off to online console gaming almost completely.(and it's entirely a matter of maturity level - pc games have voice chat and never once in all the years ive been playing them have i been insulted for no reason) in that sense, i love how nintendo does it. i can hop on for a friendly game and not have to hear the bullshit you hear on live. when im playing with my friends we use skype to talk while we play. its not a big deal IMO.

eh, there's really no such thing on any console as "online play via hardware" online features need to be programmed no matter what console they're on.. they don't just appear. unless you mean the friending system. that is a hassle, but not the end of the world. being able to see a universal status would help , though.

i don't know why it's so overlooked by consumers, but Super Mario Galaxy absolutely fits that bill IMO. it took everything that Mario64 did and took it to the next level. the graphics in the game are incredible, controls are great, motions are not overdone.. and most importantly.. it just completely captures that fun of Mario64.

i know for a fact that they could port cod4.. who said that was impossible? of course it couldnt have hd graphics, but other than that.. i dont recall anything in that game at all that the wii couldnt do.
well so far the Wii is pretty entertaining, especially after drinking, lol. i don't like that game Wii Play, so it's gone now. but today i went out and picked up a composite cable (to run the sweet 480p ), rechargeable battery packs, Super Smash Bros and Carnival Games. oh and the wife found Wii Sports for 10 bucks since ours was used and didn't come with it.......man, bowling is a blast!

now you're gonna be called a fag and a kid because you can appreciate a game based on the fact that it's fun

yeah, thats pretty much the point
i enjoyed the single player Subspace Emissary mode a lot, but i dont get the massive appeal that the multiplayer has for some people
if they were targeted to kids, they wouldnt have sold past the xbox360 in half the amount of time. kids don't have money.
thats business 101. in actuality, they're targeted to *everyone*, something that microsoft and sony are scrambling to try to do themselves(ie Buzz, Eye Toy, XBLA, and the rumored wiimote ripoffs coming from both companies)
sure they lose a few hard headed customers along the way, but it's brilliant in that they've figured out how to sell games to people who dont play them. (and people who do, of course). good for them
#1 the wii sucks
#2 smoger you have not done anything in your 100 posts of nonsense to convince me otherwise. and you have said "good day" to rasp like 3 times yet you can't drop it though you keep acting like it's not bothering you. stop acting like a premenstrual fairy as it's pretty evident he's getting under your skin you dipshit.
#3 rasp, stop arguing with a fat kid on the internet
Smoger's not some internet fat kid...he's a pretty knowledgeable guy...I'd listen to most of what he says
The Wii sucks, good idea but the games aren’t there. So what you’re left with is every fan boy talking about Metriod, Zelda, Smash brothers, "New" Mario ......oh the same friggin games they tried to say made the gamecube not a waste
Its always the Wii fanboys that claim to be real/informed gamers, yet they can never admit there just isn’t enough good software on the Wii. Once you take away the remote your left with a system with mediocre hardware and even more mediocre games
What I don't get is why people keep saying there are no games for it...
-bowling
-baseball
-football
-racing
-boxing
Why do people keep saying there are no games? The Nintendo site shows over 200 games for it

dude, it's worth the price for Wii Sports! lol, i love that shit, i can't stop with the Bowling........the wife is addicted to Sims though, so we fight for the Wii.
and to answer this before anyone asks, no the PS3 isn't just collecting dust, i just got GTA4 and am looking forward to slapping whores and killing cops!
