Ok, who is getting this the first day? I know I cant wait. I loved the first Vegas and from everything i have seen this looks to keep all the good and add a few other great features.

dont. they took a great game and eviscerated a lot of the great things about it because it was too complicated for consoles and the pansy's that play them.
They changed the game so they could get more sales and they did. Money is what makes the world go round and consoles are big money. I liked the old ones but i love the new ones.
Its hard to compare the two because of how you play the games. Rainbow slower pace. Cod 4 is fast and crazy. I love both of them, I like Cod more but its the way i like to play.
I have wised up though, and I would put my controller skills against a mouse and a keyboard any day.....

Please go buy shadowrun. You cant tell whos playing pc vs 360. But I do nothing but school peeps on there. Thats why I started leaning more on the console side in the first place.
I will never abandon the PC for gaming, obviously. But I dont think the console is ruining pc gaming. Its just taking people like me that are sick of fucking with all the pc bullshit and giving us a way to game. If anything its keeping the pc gamer developers in business

To this, I should take a step back and say it should be more like 1300 bucks. I jumped on the Core2 duo stuff a little early. Ended up with a e6300 and a non sli motherboard. So the rebuild was to get around that. And picked up a 7950 gt which by todays standards is worthless, so that had to be replaced. And went raid 0 and beefed up the ram

cod4 on your tv is running at 1280x720.. thats about the equiv. of only about a 17" monitor at this point in time. so unless you have a tiny monitor, no cod4 on your tv is not as good as crysis on your pc.
if your games are lagging on that machine(i dont give a flying fuck about benchmarks... you dont play benchmarks..theyre supposed to tax your machine), you have it seriously configured wrong.
my machine:
core2duo @ 2.16ghz
2gb dual channel ddr
250gb sata drive(i dont even remember if its 10k rpm)
geforce 8800gts 640mb
it's windows experience rating is 5.8 out of 6, dragged down .2 by the hard drive speed and .1 by the processor speed
with the exception of crysis, every current game ive played(oblivion, cod4, bioshock, etc, etc) runs smoothly over 60fps (closer to 100fps) in the monitors native resolution: 1680x1050 (always maxed out settings)
crysis i bumped down to 1320x800(?) and it runs about 35fps on "High Settings" in DX10 mode. apparantly a patch they released improves that significantly too,.. but i never installed it because i only had the demo
even at low resolutions the difference is evident..
I was giving you the benchmarks to give you an idea of what the system stacks up against in that area.
Im not on vista so dx10 is out
Ill get crysis loaded on my other partition(vista) and see if its that much better. From what I have read though, the game doesnt run all that great on any computer. Im running it at my monitor res 1680x1050 with everything on high. Im getting about 27-30 fps with an occasional hard freeze. I also have a 22" monitor.
and 1080p is 1920×1080
I agree pc games can look way better and always have in the past, but my recent frustration at Crysis has me hating the PC market right now. I spent too much money and time trying to get a game to run at my DLP TV res without lagging.
As much as it probably pisses you off to hear me saying all this. Im pissed off at my shitbox computer.
So how the heck do I have my pc configured wrong?
Im running the latest forceware drivers
Ive taken the cpu multiplyers back down, memory is running dual channel....and its all matching ram.
On the flip side, Crysis is the only thing that lags on my pc. Ive been trying to find something else that is up in that "detail" range but there are no games I really want to play.
Tried quake wars, UT3, etc....if you have some recommendations for tweaks or for games I would love to hear them
