K guys im in the market for a new console and was wondering which one I should get for the future as well. Is the PS3 going to prosper like most ppl say or should i stick to the reliable xbox360 that everyone has and says that is better at graphics and online gaming?
Thanks

but i hear metal gear solid for ps3 is gunna be kick ass....
360 has alot of games to offer... idk much about the PS3
Today i went to future shop and i was playing fifa 08 on Ps3 and my god did the graphics look horrible... I mean the OS on it looks pretty neat, it has Blue ray... im just thinking about the future more then the present?????
2. if you go ps3, you'll HAVE to lean more on the future.
3. ps3 has a big advantage if it's going to save you a bluray player purchase
4. starting next week, the 360 will be MUCH cheaper than the ps3 ($299 for the 20gb)
5. both consoles have graphics that are on par with each other
6. as of now, microsoft has the better online gaming, but you have to shell out 50 a year for it(you can get it on sale tho)
so basically.. it all comes down to this.. look at the games on each system,.. and see which one has more that you like. almost all major games are cross platform now so it comes down to just a handful of games
oh, one final note.. more 360 copies of games are always printed, so 360 games get much cheaper than ps3 games, if you're the type to pick them up a few months later used..

As far as technology goes, if you think about the future, you would never spend a cent on tech. It will always be faster, smaller, cheaper, better - and it happens quick.
From a practical standpoint, I have a 360 and a PS3. I play the 360 like crazy, and the PS3 every once in a while.
Depends on what you want out of the system. Games? Great multiplayer? Blu-ray? Etc.? Explain.
1. Most games these days are multi-platform launches, it usually doesn't matter.
2. I have a PS3
3. I love not having to fucking buy batteries
4. Blu Ray is vedy nice
5. Xbox 150 is a lot less reliable, even with their smaller GPU dye, as they RROD like the piece of shit they are
6. You can DL demos and wallpapers and all kinds of shit in the PS store before you buy the game.
1. agreed
2. I have a xbox
3. I spent 10 bucks a walmart on 4 rechargeable batteries and a charger. No more batteries, and no play and charge.
4. agreed
5. the new ones seem to be very reliable. I have to keep replaceing mine as people break into my house and steel them.
6. we can do that too.
xbox live costs money, but imo is better than ps3 and worth the cost. Most people I know that have both primarly use the xbox for gaming, and online multiplayer. Witch is pretty much all I do.
For the future, go with the PS3. One big thing is it has Blu Ray (and a very good one at that) and way more headroom for growth than many people admit. The Xbox is maxed out. I always hear "the graphics look the same man" while they're playing a cross platform game staring at a standard def TV. Look at where the PS2 started and where it ended up, expect that from the PS3. On the flip side Xbox live is much better than the Playstation network, especially for online gaming. The 360 also has a shit ton more games, but that's because it's been around for a while. Another drawback that a lot of people don't consider is everything is external on the 360; power supply, wireless transmitter, etc. Doesn't matter to most but when I move my PS3 I grab the unit, two cables (power and HDMI) and controllers, that's it. To qualify, I don't own a 360 but play it almost more than my PS3 (all my buddies have 360's) and am very familiar with it. I'm glad I got a PS3 instead of the 360. Lengthy post over.
