Not disagreeing with more space is better, but they have to use it for something worthwhile for it to actually make a difference. Redundant data and uncompressed everything is just taking up a bunch of space that can be used for more content. So your 40GB bluray game can look and play just the same on a smaller capacity disc for another system (okay, maybe not the wii ).
Wow just some incorrect information some PS3 games use redundant data but so do some 360 ones as well. more space equals more game, better graphics, etc if the developer chooses to do so for instance UT3 and even Strangehold as examples.

Yep and as they (game designers) figure this out... blue ray will win this battle. I guess when we start seeing blue ray for the 360 then we are right? I hope it comes down to this so all us supporters of the blue ray can say "told you so".
that's like saying my car sucks because it cant float across water. it's kind of a null fact since it's something i'd never even try to do in my life.
games for 12 hours straight... :lmao: seriously?
When I bought my PS3 we ran it non stop for 3 days straight. Yes 3 days because we were one of the very few that had power. Big snow storm hit and we had about 6 people staying with us, when one person was not play someone else was. 70 + hours is the testing that I wanted and it worked flawlessly. 8 hours with the 360 with additional cooling fans and it locks up.

You will never see Bluray games on the 360. NEVER. Period. That would basically be throwing away your whole user base and everyone would have to buy a new system. As an attachment for movies, yes thats a possibility. (and no, movies arent games.)

Never say never. I remember just a few months ago that blue ray was on its last legs and HD format was going to win. Now PC's are coming with blue ray only, it's only a matter of time before MS has to bend to the will of the market. Sure keep on making your format for your games, sooner or later they will figure out that... hey we need more room, shit HD is dead so now what? Hard drive only games? That would just be putting a PC into a console. Blue Ray is the future, like it or not.

Well there was a strong inkling about the 360 coming with a HD DVD player installed this year until Toshiba threw in the towel. MS is not above throwing away its whole user base if it means you will upgrade. They don't support the original Xbox and told them go f themselves or buy a 360. They also told core owners hey you will be able to play every 360 game so you don't need a HDD and now that is just not so.......
Actually, bluray is the present. We dont know what we may have 2-3 years from now with the next systems. But as I said THIS Xbox, the 360, will NEVER use bluray or any other format for gaming. Microsoft does not want to be in the same money losing train Sony is in, and that's exactly what would happen if they abandoned the DVD format to make a Xbox 360 version 1.2 that will last for another 3 years max.
How did Microsoft own themselves? They didnt build a HD-DVD into their 360, it was an external movie player. The Xbox 360 just comes with a basic DVD player.... what are you talking about kid? Once again, its a gaming console. As I said, you're brainwashed.
Xbox = for online gaming
Wii = Gaming with friends
PS3 = Watching movies
thx.
RDOD FTW!!!!
btw camry-mopar more and more tvs are 1080p back maybe 2-3 years they were extremely expensive, I bought a TV through sony that was 1080p and i got it for 1600 (retailed at 2700) , they sell that same tv now with the same bravia 1080p light engine for 1500, so just like flat panels in general the price is going to continue to go down. strike 5 tool

But how much is the NEW tech going to cost. You have to remember that console can only fetch so much. So unless your talking about fuzzy drives or some other new age tech shit the "disk" game console is here to stay for a good while. The Blue Ray really gave the room that the game designers were looking for, next you have to be able to play DVD's on your console now. To many people are expecting it to do so. Unless the movie market gets away from this in the next 3 years I don't see the gaming consoles doing anything different. MS may want to be cutting edge and have the best, biggest and badest system out there. They can keep trying but in the long run, we want the disk till someone can prove a better, cheaper, more room application for the console and remember.... it has to play my old DVD's as well.
