Bluray is about to become obsolete. Sales are slow, discs are expensive as fuck. Oh, Netflix is working with Microsoft. Sony is going to copy Microsoft and work with movie studios to bring movies to the PS3 thru the psn. Wait a minute... what a bout bluray? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! So Sony made you pay for a format that will be abandoned? Thank God Microsoft did not force me to buy HDDVD.
Microsoft is now at the point where it's making money on the consoles that they're selling. Sony... is still taking a loss.
Microsoft lost $1 billion from their rrod issue... yet console sales did not stop.
Sony lost $3.2 billion from lack of sales.
Just pray that Kojima doesn't knock on Bill Gates' door, because when he does... Sony is truly fucked.

The new format of high def movies will be Blu Ray. Not every dumb asshole wants to stream a movie, some do own, and there is a lot of money in those that buy them. Yes, prices are high but so were DVD's and VHS back in the day.
Either way you're a fool if you think that "streaming media" is going to destroy Blu Ray.

yeah^^ PS3 FTW but mine took a shit on me but i would never ever jump to that piece of shit called XBOX crap. Sony FTW! yeah it sucks that i paid that much for a console to break but the its an easy fix and no biggie when you gots the money!
Blu Ray FTW, it kicked HDDVDs ass and now there are none being sold at the stores. ive seen them being sold at bootleg shops and no one still buys em. ha ha!

Until download speeds get faster, I don't think people want to be waiting on a movie to finish downloading or be watching a movie with frequent pauses.
I'd like to see where you get your Blu Ray statistics from, because they are way from left field.
just so everyone knows, i checked out the new movie features on PSN late last night when it was released and it seemed that every movie you can purchase will only show it in 480 SD so that means that it will not end the blu-ray disc movies sold in stores....but you can rent the movie in HD
what i'm tired of is you 360 owners always saying this and that about the PS3, if the 360 is so high and mighty and your trying to convert us PS3 owners into getting one, then why don't you go fucking buy me one...jesus fucking christ you 360 owners hail it like its a freaking religion, drop the shit already....
Well I own a 360 but I can say that after watching how the PS3 home will be that looks really kick ass kind of a sim's style waiting and hang out area very cool. I will say at the rate things are going I will probably have to break down at some point and buy a PS3 if for nothing else that it's overall a great Blu-Ray player. And yeah blu-ray costs a lot now but overtime it will drop in price just like dvd and everything else.
I figured that blu-ray would win just because Sony has so many differnet divisions dealing with entertainment that you knew it would use and have all its conections go with blu-ray over HD than Toshibia could muster.
Although I do find it funny that the first Xbox was just a Sony Viao from a year or 2 before just in a case for gaming.
Myself I do not have brand loalyty per-say what ever will fit my needs the best is what I will get. So far xbox live has really been key for me.
As for sales the PS3 is barely ahead of the PS2 in sales and most people I know that have a PS3 after a while just use it for a blu-ray player more then gaming system. Although as more and better titles come out that will change I am sure.
By the way anyone see the advert for the game MAG for the PS3 with 256-person multiplayer!
